NEW YORK -- Washington Wizards teammates Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton drew guns on each other during a Christmas Eve locker room argument over a gambling debt, according to The New York Post.

Last week, the Wizards and Arenas acknowledged that Arenas had stored unloaded firearms in a container in his locker, and the NBA said it was looking into the situation.

Now you know why they dont call themselves the Bullets anymore

Well played sir. Well played.

As for this situation...WTF do you need a gun in your own locker room for? Idiots. I hope Stern boots both of them for good. But he likely won't. They'll get a 25 game suspension and then he'll try to pretend like it never happened.

Fucking lowlife thugs. Then again, the NBA is full of them.

fuckin retards. Seriously. I liked Arenas up until this incident. Somewhere out there in America there are urban organizers and community workers who are being worn out by the constant violence they're exposed to. A few of them will probably give up after seeing these millionaire lowlife thugs just perpetuating stereotypes.

If these two fucking scumbags aren't suspended I'm never watching another NBA game.

What the fuck? Here's what I want to know - how did this go unnoticed? Handguns are illegal in DC, period. I'm not entirely sure if the District has even implemented the procedures for owning one at home under the Heller decision. Nonetheless, neither player lives in the locker room, so these are illegal hand guns in DC.

Not only should they be suspended, but they should be put in jail. If you want to own a gun, live and work in Virginia like the rest of us do. Anything less will be pure hypocrisy by the team, league, and city. I don't agree with their gun control laws, but they have it on the books, so let's now see it enforced against these celebrities.

I'm blown away...that's not the Arenas that people have come to appreciate. He's been awesome in the community and with kids...a seemingly lighthearted guy that appreciates where he's gotten. He works very hard at his game, and tries to be normal with people around him.

I remember hearing a story of him befriending a high school dude, inviting him to games etc. The kid couldn't get over Gilbert Arenas was texting him regularly, lol.

It may be a tough thing to prosecute legally depending on evidence, but seriously, how much less serious an issue is it than Ron Artest going into the stands?

I doubt he'd be suspended that long tho since nothing came out of it, but I'm thinking 20-30 games minimum. On the other hand, the nba may want to send a message, and probably should, and suspend them for the rest of the season (if the story is accurate.)

I agree completely, and I like guns.

I just heard that even Al Sharpton is calling for a stiff penalty against Arenas lest the league come across as supporting a culture of violence in sports.

For once, I actually agree with Al Sharpton.

Arenas has been going downhill since the injury. Actually he was going downhill since Game 5 - where he missed 2 FTs just b/c Lebron said something to him.
Meh, need a whole new team tbh, and local talk radio wonders if this might actually happen. Yes, I'm thankful for the playoff runs...but this team needs alot of work.

@Whisper - John Thompson (on Sportstalk 980) was pretty self-righteous with his gun control rant this afternoon. I mean - obvious much Big John? Heh.
