Anyone watching? New Orleans took it to Phoenix and put up a good fight. Chris Paul 14/14 33 points to clinch the series. Memphis Minnesota has been extremely hard fought too. Jazz in the running for ugliest uniform and home floor combo in nba history.

Edit - Mavs vs Suns another great game. Utah came within inches of forcing a game 7.

This playoffs has been great for a first round. Usually they are way more lopsided but seeing Utah give it to Phoenix was impressive and just fun to watch. The defense in this first round has been fantastic. The way KD was shut down by the Celtics was impressive.

It does suck about the injuries though. The Nuggets without Jamal Murray put up a great fight against the warriors. Even though they lost the series 4-1, every single game was tight. I remember the announcer in game 5 saying there was a point differential of 12 points in the previous 4 games.

And now you have what will potentially be the best series of the whole playoffs, Celtics versus Bucks, and Middleton is going to be out the whole series. It just sucks.

Glad to at least see Booker back last night though.

I haven't watched any Eastern conference games but the West has been wild. Top 4 seeds advance in the East. Surprised the Boston-Brooklyn series wasn't more competitive. Memphis looking to advance tonight. Will be tuned in for that game.

In the past, two or three of the opening series would have been decided in five games or less. But similar to the state of the NFL, this year's first round featured a lot of parity. Memphis/Minny has probably been the best series so far, and I can't wait for the TWolves to be put in their place.

Celtics/Nets was highly anticipated but a lot of people seemingly didn't realize the Nets just are not an elite team. Or that the Celtics have the top-rated defense, and they shockingly reduced KD to mere mortal status with it. The Celtics and Suns are clearly the two best teams; but in typical fashion, bettors have made the Warriors the favorites in Las Vegas.

What's crazy is that the MLB "Opening Day" thread got way more replies than this playoffs thread. And I'm surprised there wasn't a dedicated NFL Draft thread with multiple pages of commentary, but such is the state of the forums.

Another great game between Memphis and Minnesota but I have to go to bed. First half was great.

I was dragged (wife got four free cheap tix) to a Raptor - Sixer game. Was wearing earplugs but my ears were still ringing an hour after the game.

(Nobody here cares about the NBA lol)

A lot has happened in a month, but here we go. Game 7 of the ECF! I’ve no rooting interest, but Dubs vs. Celtics is probably the better Finals.

Get back to me when the Knicks are legit-contenders again!

I do care.
I've watched most of all conference semis and beyond.
Fridays game win by the Heat was not expected,
so we may end up seeing Dubs and the Heat on Thursday.
GP2 may be available to play as well as Otto Porter and Andre Igoudala.

Have been watching the NBA religiously for decades, and I don't think I've ever seen anything close to as epic a flameout as the Suns loss in Game 7. The Suns are so much more talented than any other team left and they should have had a cakewalk to a title once the Bucks got eliminated. I'm still in shock they were down 45 to Dallas at home in a Game 7. I can't imagine how bitter it is for Suns fans to see their team blow a sure title seeing how flawed the Celtics and Heat are and how the Warriors are nowhere close to the team they were in say 2015 when Klay Thompson was an elite defender and the second best shooter in the league. No matter who wins I think we're going to see the weakest champion since the 79 Sonics.

Scree the Heat in particular due to Jimmy the diva Butler.

At this point the question is really who are the Warriors going to beat to win the finals?

I didn't literally mean nobody cares, but a month passed without any replies in this thread. These entire playoffs have been pretty competitive and watchable IMO. Even when the Heat were dead with under 4 minutes to play, they nearly pulled off a miracle.

Although the Dubs are the betting favorites, all the computer models love the Celtics. I think the potential is certainly there for a compelling series, but these things are hard to predict. I've never rooted for the Celtics in my life, so now I don't know which team I want to win LOL.

The Mavericks over achieved, it was pretty clear that GSW was on another level compared to Dallas. The only reason Dallas didn't get swept is by virtue of making a ton of 3 pointers game 4, GSW pretty much controlled every other aspect of the series.

I have hopes of my New Orleans Pecans doing something next season. They have a young team with some talent but if Williamson can't step up his game things might be going downhill.

The fact that New Orleans played the Suns relatively close in the first round and almost forced a game 7 should've raised some flags and had people questioning if the Suns were really all that great.

Booker got hurt in Game 2 and missed Games 3-5, so I was kind of impressed they went into Game 6 up 3-2 without their best player.

Although I had the Suns returning to the Finals, losing in the second round to an inferior team (and esp. the way they folded in game 7) is ample evidence they just weren't the powerhouse most of us thought they were.

The Celtics stole Finals game 1 with a barrage of unrepeatable 4th quarter shooting. The Dubs are obviously still confident, while facing an absolute must-win situation tonight. For competition purposes alone, I'd like to see them tie the series.

Old man yelling here, I watched games here and there but raining 3s and FT isn't really by things. But I do enjoy the defensive schemes.

Season/dynasty on the brink for the Dubs tonight. Every game is different, but in game 3, the Splash Bros scored, Wiggins and Poole were good, and the Dubs made their patented 3rd quarter burst. But they still got ran off the court because the defense and Draymond were terrible.

Yeah Draymond wasn't good plus while holding their own on rebounding the first 2 games, they got
crushed on the boards 47-31 with the Celtics getting 15 offensive boards to 6 by the Warriors.

They also have to have less TOs than the Celtics to win. Only in game 2 did the Warriors have less TOs.
They need to have better ball handling.

Dramond was garbage. He’s doing too much off the court activities right now instead of focusing on his game. I don’t expect him to be a scorer but I do expect him to have close to 10 assists and 10 rebounds.

Luckily Wiggins has been showing up as has looney, and of course Steph. As pooles biggest fan I don’t know what’s going on with him but he hasn’t been his usual self and we need him more than ever. The Warriors offense has been more hero ball than team ball and I feel that’s not going to get a championship.

As a warriors fan I have to give major props to the Celtics, they are really good and they are playing warriors basketball better than the warriors. Robert Williams is a beast and I think he’s been the X factor is this series.

I’ll be at game five (I really thought the warriors were going to close them out in five) but my hopes aren’t very high.

Draymond definitely could be better but tonight he did have 8 assists, 9 boards and 5 were offensive.
He was better than in game 3.
They outrebounded the Celtics 55-42, and 16-11 in offensive boards. That's big as it cut down on second chance points for Boston.

Poole did have 14 points in 20 minutes. Wiggins was a beast tonight with 16 boards. Looney led the Warriors with +21

So if Curry has a huge game and the Warriors win the Finals, where does that put Curry in the discussion of all-time greats?

Comment during broadcast was in the top ten. Of course, he had a poor game 5 and Wiggins is making a case for MVP with his game 5 performance. It's still a series. Celtics have shown they can win in S.F. But Dubs are riding high. They want to take it in Boston.

Curry's an all time great no matter what. That greatest shooter ever talk is deserved. Before him, 30 footers was not a thing.
