NBA season starts Tuesday!

Alright! I love this time of year. World series baseball, the usual football weekends, and the start of the NBA. Awesome.

In usual ATOT fashion, I do expect some of you to post "NBA sucks boo to you," but I don't care. Good luck to all nba fans this season! Go Lakers!!!! I can't wait to see a healthy Laker team! They looked pretty good thus far in preseason. I'm ultrapumped!

My Spurs arn't even ganna make it to the Western Finals this year. Too many better, younger teams this year. Lakers/Rockets in Western Finals.

Wow, pathetic you'd say that - Rockets in the WCF? Yah, right. Someone is bound to get injured and chances are Artest could go Pacman on us here in Houston.

As for my Spurs, Manu will be out for a month and a half, and this surgery should fix what has bothered him the past two-three seasons (he kept tweaking the same ankle.) Along with the best big man in the league, and Tony Parker - I don't see the Spurs finishing in top - but they will be there in the Finals against the Celtics (boo, I hate KG.)

Seems like the NBA season just ended. I got no favorite yet, but the Lakers looked pretty weak last year in the finals. Will have to see a few games before I get a fav.

How about the Rockets? Sure they haven't made it out of the first round in the past, but they're a good team. They won 22 straight last year without Yao, right? Do they have all of their players back? Obviously I don't play a ton of attention to the NBA but still am a fan. Just not as much as football. I hate baseball like crazy so can't wait for the one month coming up where there is no baseball.

I'll make the Rockets my pick for the year (not that it matters) if they have all their players back from last year. I guess that's pretty unlikely though, with players being traded all the time.

As a die-hard laker fan since before I was born (true story: dad took chick hearn on the radio to my mom's womb), I'm not entirely convinced. Kobe's knee injury can haunt him, but given his intense concentration on his fitness and well-being I can trust him. I hope that the bench can give the same effort as it did last year. I'm not sure how a stacked front court like the Lakers can all mesh-in and play in a fluid manner. Last year, the Lakers played with a specific style (2nd-half of the season). This year, it'll have to be different. I'm hoping that since there's a stacked bench and the fact that Bynum is back, that'll mean lesser minutes for everyone. What I am saying is that hopefully that will make the players have more energy to use on defense.

you're going to find that you overpaid for brand and iguodola.

They made it to the playoffs last year without a legitimate post threat. Now they have a guy that's a 20/10 and 2 blocks a game down there helping out on both offense and defense. AI2 was forced to make a lot of plays that weren't there because there weren't any scorers on the team. No he has somebody to help share the load. Miller is an very underrated point guard and will be dishing out 10+ assists a game with Brand there now. It's a solid lineup at every position short of a true SG.

Even as a Bulls fan, I like the move as it provides a little more validity to the Eastern conference.

Boston will be good, but I don't see them repeating. I'm not so sure that the big three have the hunger now that they have their ring.

Detroit is still Detroit, but they aren't getting any younger either.

Philly is young and focused.

Atlanta put a solid scare into Boston in the playoffs.

If Orlando plays up to it's ability it will be a solid team.

Same for Chicago - they have one of the deepest benches in the league with great talent at every position. A team that is *much* better than the stinker they put up last season.

And the Cleveland Lebrons are always in the fight as long as Lebron is able to move.

The east should be fun this year.

Ya, I have similar sentiments. I was sorely disappointed w/ the Bulls last season. I'm still waiting for them to break out and play to their potential. Hell, I predicted them going deep last season. bleh. I don't think the east will be as lopsided as it was last year. The west is still stacked, but now I can't wait to watch a couple of the Eastern Conf. games; especially the 76'ers. I like watching Brand play(been to a couple Clipper games). I think they'll play well from the start.

I'm still also seeing when the Wizards will play well, or even finally have some sort of identity. I like Arenas, and would like to see him play well with the Wizards, AND have that team be successful.
