maybe my wording was wrong. Miami might not have gotten the "short end of the deal", but i don't think they improved their team. they aren't in position to beat the Pistons and/or the Pacers next season, IMO.

Miami had a young and athletic team. they gave away nearly their entire starting line-up for Shaq. granted, Shaq may be big enough to fill those shoes.....but now what is Miami left with? an aging Shaq, an aging Eddie Jones, and a young Wade. they also lost Rafer Alston.

now they have no depth. their backup PG is Bimbo Coles. they are going to have to get the most out of guys like Rasul Butler and Udonis Haslem (granted Haslem had a nice season, so he could be a good contributer).

Miami is losing 2 of their best SF's. They will need a SF which is why I suggested George. He's athletic and has shown he can hit his shots, although inconsistently. :roll: at the 2nd comment.

i'm seriously wondering if the Lakers are going to lose Kobe as well.

the Clippers traded two players to the Bobcats for future draft picks. their free agent, Quentin Richardson, just got an offer from another team. financially, the Clippers can offer Kobe all the money he wants.....i think it's a long shot, but it would be crazy...

I don't think it's a long shot at all. Clippers have a great chance at getting Kobe since the Lakers is such a mess right now. Kobe is friends with Maggette and since Q signed an offer sheet with the Suns, Kobe has a position to play. It all depends on whether he wants his "own" team (Lakers) or a team with few good players (Clippers).

I hope he goes to the Clippers b/c the Lakers will be the worst team in the league.

With the salary cap the Laker can give a lot more than the Clippers, not just with the extra year.

Payton now saying he wants to stay with the Lakers. I think his lawyers and agents told him to play for 5mil because no other team would give him any more with his horrendous finals performance.
