This game continues to piss me off, even though I have been winning. D is non-existent on my team even though for the most part, I am calling the right plays at the right times. Giving up 444 yards and 29 points is ridiculous.
The player movement is about to push me over the edge. I much preferred NCAA 09, for example, because I could actually use the hit stick there.
I completely agree. The more and more I play and think about it, the more I start hating the game.
I just want to play a realistic game of football, and after all these years EA still can't do it. I either win big (on all-american) or lose big (on heisman). This is something that plagues just about every football game.
Madden a couple of years ago tried to dynamically adjust to your skills, but it instead just proved how much of a joke the difficulty levels are. There, one game you can demolish the competition, and then the next game you lose miserably because it changed the difficulty. This became a see-saw.
I understand that everyone is different, but how hard is it to create a difficulty level where it makes games fun and competitive? I understand that the sliders are supposed to accomplish this task, but it takes hours of trial and error to get them correct.
Other thoughts:
--Why do all defensive backs have bricks for hands? Seriously, either change the animation to make most of these swats, or make the DB catch it. In this game, DBs seem to catch about 5-10% of the balls that touch their hands, whereas in real life, I'm sure the number probably approaches 50%.
--Why does the AI need to cheat and phase shift pass defenders a couple of yards after my receiver beat them on an out route? Out route are nigh impossible at times because the AI always tries to jump the route an go for a pick 6.
--Why is it that the AI D-Line make my O-Line look like swiss cheese, yet I can't penetrate the AI O-Line? Whenever I play D-Line, all the AI does is continually pancake me... great. At least when you finally do get to the QB, the QB doesn't automatically throw it the instant you get there.
-Why doesn't the hit stick work reliably? The hit stick is a joke. I'd venture to say half the time I use it, it doesn't work. And even when it does work, it's not much more than a tackle.
--Why is it, after all these years, that I still fucking can't RETURN A PUNT? wtf? Nearly every punt return I do, I always have two defenders right up in my nose as i catch the ball because my blockers can't seem to block (novel concept...).
--Why do I have to wait for the clock to run down when I QB kneel it (after the opponents timeouts have been used up)? EA keeps saying they wanted to make NCAA games quicker, yet it still can't intelligently ask me if I want to automatically skip 40 seconds of staring at the playcalling screen?
--Why can't EA bring back the old style playcall screen? As in displaying three plays at a time, not one.
--Why do all these random glitches popup year after year when EA hasn't done anything to their game :awe:?
--More realistic lighting system? Slap a sepia filter on the game in the fourth quarter!
--They keep the road to glory in the game every year, but they do just about nothing to it. Why? Erin Andrews? Woopdee frickin doo.
Honestly, I could go on, but at this point I'm hungry.
I honestly felt bored playing a dynasty game, and I never felt that way before. I'm not sure what game all these reviewers were playing (they were suggesting that NCAA is back and isn't madden's little brother anymore) because it feels exactly like the last NCAA game I played (NCAA 09) only with a better framerate.
I'll keep playing it though, but I think my high expectations for each new EA football game really sours my mood after a couple of days playing said game.
