Man, I hoped they would win. That Last second catch was impressive.
See, that's what Tennessee does. You know who they are, you know how they lose games and they still managed to suck you in.

Texas in 69, 70
Alabama in 73, 78, 79

Notre Dame in 88
Georgia Southern (FCS) in 99, 2000
Was it worth the wait?
Howard was a 45pt underdog at UNLV and won 43-40. Even worse was that was not a conference or regional rivalry game that UNLV HAD to play. That was a sacrificial lamb game where the big school (UNLV) pays a patsy (Howard) a lot of money ($600,000 in this case) to come in and get stomped so the home team can rack up easy non-conference wins in a quest to get bowl eligible. Whoops! Spending over half a million to get beat in your home opener is a bigger lolololololol than Texas.
Now there's the real Tennessee we all know and laugh at.
Boiler up! Amazing what a competent coach can do.Was rooting for Florida, since Michigan gonna need all the help it can get, as bad as our offense is this year. Hard to believe, but I am really scared to play Purdue next week.
Oh... so nobody close to being current. So like I said, can't win like that. Some of those are questionable too. The fact is there hasn't been, and won't be a team that runs 90% of the time with the triple wishbone offense, throwing 10% of the time winning a NC any time soon. The game has changed. You are obviously clueless on that aspect. Until there is, I am correct saying this. Very few teams currently use it, and they have no change of winning a NC. Unless you think Air Force is going to this year? No, didn't think so. Personally I like watching it. It just doesn't win enough in todays game.
Between them and the Saints, my social media feed is getting nuts.LSU fans and boosters can thank themselves for yesterdays debacle.
You didn't ask for recency. But people didn't stop running that offense because it doesn't work. It clearly does. They stopped running it because high school athletes want a path to the NFL. And when it went out of favor, newer non-NFL style offenses became trendy.
No one running it now will win a national championship because only a small fraction of teams that all recruit at a very high level will win a title anyway. It has nothing to do with their schemes being superior. It has to do with the quality of athlete and coaching. GT is the only P5 team running it, and they require all athletes to pass calculus and recruiting rankings are in the 40s at best on average. They have ups and downs but have finished in the top 10 and gone to NY6 bowls with it. The offense is not what's keeping them out of a title hunt.
Its pretty clear in the conversation that I was talking about today's game. Lots of styles and techniques used to exist, that do not anymore. It clearly wont win a NC in todays game. Thats been proven. If it worked, more teams would use it. Proof is in the pudding so to speak. I don't know why you are trying to argue it. Again, I enjoy it. I watch AF whenever I can just for it. It just doesnt win in todays game enough.
I don't mind stating my case if you ask for it. If you want to differ on your own accord be my guest, but I don't particularly enjoy you picking a fight with me and saying it's my fault. I neither started nor expanded this argument.
Thank God. The wife was in the middle of making chicken pot pie and would have stroked out with a loss. WTH do I know about making chicken pot pie?SC barely won against La Tech (a small school) at home. Florida St. is 0-2 so far.
