LSU played even worse than a Jr. High varsity team. Multiple penalties with two ejections because of targeting. So much for the new offense coordinator and passing game plan. Same pathetic passing game again tonight. Another season, another losing streak to Bama.

I don't normally believe in a team "giving away a game". Generally I believe in a team winning it. And a team losing it. UT gave that game away. 3 missed FG's, 1st and goal on the 1, not a single run, and a INT at the 1. 0 points from a 1st and goal from the 1. 3 total INT's. Not from great plays by the defense, by terrible passes from the QB. Absolute terrible play calling. And wtf were they doing on the last play, you absolutely have to do anything to stop them from catching a deep pass. You can grab and pull them to the ground. Its only a 15 yard penalty, and still out of FG range for the untimed last play. There was a very clear hold by FL O line on that last play, no call. Not that I would expect it. Sadly, being a Vols fan, this happens a lot. Probably happen again this year. Injuries suck, I understand that. They've been hit hard. Still doesn't excuse the horrendous play calling, and terrible play.

Texas in 69, 70
Alabama in 73, 78, 79
Oklahoma in 74, 75
Colorado in 90
Nebraska in 94, 95, 97
Notre Dame in 88
Georgia Southern (FCS) in 99, 2000

Was it worth the wait?

Oh... so nobody close to being current. So like I said, can't win like that. Some of those are questionable too. The fact is there hasn't been, and won't be a team that runs 90% of the time with the triple wishbone offense, throwing 10% of the time winning a NC any time soon. The game has changed. You are obviously clueless on that aspect. Until there is, I am correct saying this. Very few teams currently use it, and they have no change of winning a NC. Unless you think Air Force is going to this year? No, didn't think so. Personally I like watching it. It just doesn't win enough in todays game.

No, I don't really care and rarely watch Clemson because of their crap performance but Ackmed needs some ...encouragement.

Howard was a 45pt underdog at UNLV and won 43-40. Even worse was that was not a conference or regional rivalry game that UNLV HAD to play. That was a sacrificial lamb game where the big school (UNLV) pays a patsy (Howard) a lot of money ($600,000 in this case) to come in and get stomped so the home team can rack up easy non-conference wins in a quest to get bowl eligible. Whoops! Spending over half a million to get beat in your home opener is a bigger lolololololol than Texas.

This weeks sacrificial lamb story is Northern Illinois at Nebraska. The mighty Cornhuskers paid the lowly Huskies over $800,000 to show up, roll over and provide an easy win. NIU refused to follow the script though and wound up winning 21-17

Now there's the real Tennessee we all know and laugh at.

Was rooting for Florida, since Michigan gonna need all the help it can get, as bad as our offense is this year. Hard to believe, but I am really scared to play Purdue next week.

Texas USC though was a hell of a good game.

Boiler up! Amazing what a competent coach can do.

You didn't ask for recency. But people didn't stop running that offense because it doesn't work. It clearly does. They stopped running it because high school athletes want a path to the NFL. And when it went out of favor, newer non-NFL style offenses became trendy.

No one running it now will win a national championship because only a small fraction of teams that all recruit at a very high level will win a title anyway. It has nothing to do with their schemes being superior. It has to do with the quality of athlete and coaching. GT is the only P5 team running it, and they require all athletes to pass calculus and recruiting rankings are in the 40s at best on average. They have ups and downs but have finished in the top 10 and gone to NY6 bowls with it. The offense is not what's keeping them out of a title hunt.

Picked Stanford not to cover, an outright lose was just a bonus I guess.

Was really rooting for Texas over USC. I remember the NC game, probably the single best college game I personally have every seen. Saturday's game was a great game non the less. After seeing Texas play, I can't see who they have sucked so bad prior too. Defense was very stout, especially against the run.

Its pretty clear in the conversation that I was talking about today's game. Lots of styles and techniques used to exist, that do not anymore. It clearly wont win a NC in todays game. Thats been proven. If it worked, more teams would use it. Proof is in the pudding so to speak. I don't know why you are trying to argue it. Again, I enjoy it. I watch AF whenever I can just for it. It just doesnt win in todays game enough.

I don't mind stating my case if you ask for it. If you want to differ on your own accord be my guest, but I don't particularly enjoy you picking a fight with me and saying it's my fault. I neither started nor expanded this argument.

Don't think Vandy will be sending a prepared bulletin board to Bama again.

And Tennessee just keeping away a victory from UMass???!!!!

And this Florida game....talk about nailbitter. Jack Jr. comes in and totally changes the offense. Thanks in part to two totally blown outside receiver coverage plays by Kentucky along with a very bad decision to take a holding penalty #31 in the books.

How much the OC of LSU is making a year? Something around $1.5 million USD a year? And he gave us the pathetic offense for the last two games? Goodness, it was bad. The starting QB was benched in the third quarter so the true freshman QB was in then the rookie threw an INT and then the starting QB was back in and LSU was able to escape with a win against an unranked team at home. The defense (the DC is making $1.8 million a year) did not play very well tonight either, they were horrible last week.

Different HC and OC, same ole pathetic offense from LSU. I do not see how they will be able to beat Bama at Bama this year.

SC barely won against La Tech (a small school) at home. Florida St. is 0-2 so far.

Thought this was the year for Kentucky to beat Florida, can't believe they lost that game. And where did Baylor come from? Thought for sure OU was going to put up 100 points or something like that on them, but they kept it close.

My Vols looked pathetic yesterday. They tend to play on the level of their opposition though. Hopefully they get up for Georgia next week, they looked great. But I am better Georgia wins.

Fucking Florida lucking into another win, so frustrating. The exact same blown coverage, twice. After a timeout, twice. Kentucky pulling a UT and giving away a game.

Oklahoma and Baylor was a great game. Even better was that DirectTV had it in 4k. Best looking football game I have ever seen. Substantially better looked that 1080. Really just amazing, and it was a good game.

Hardly a fight, just setting you straight. It was obvious I was talking about now. Its not going to happen with a triple option run.

Thank God. The wife was in the middle of making chicken pot pie and would have stroked out with a loss. WTH do I know about making chicken pot pie?

FSU played Bama surprisingly close if you look at the actual stats. Yards were almost equal. Special teams killed them, and once they got behind the QB forced some throws including an INT. They looked pretty bad against NC State though.

As for UF, they seem to have been incredibly lucky as of late. I really thought Kentucky had them. And then that Hail Mary to end Tennessee? Are you kidding?

LSU paid Troy over $900K to be the punching bag for the homecoming and look like the bag pushed back and won. New OC, same pathetic offense. Les Miles is laughing his butt off right now.
