Congratulations to New England. I'm a Panther fan but I think the best team won. NE controlled the line of scrimmage most of the game. NE, gave up a couple of huge plays, but overall I think they were the better TEAM today. I'm really proud of the Panthers, too. The accounted for themselves quite well I think.

You should be aware that the fact that he wasn't sacked once is more a factor of their offensive style than it is their line. Brady does a lot of the 3-5 step drop, short little 5-10 yard slants, outs, etc.. A half second after he's finished his drop the ball's gone. New England's offensive line isn't protecting him as much as he's protecting himself by giving the defensive zero time to get to him. Payton and QB's like him get the sacks because they hold the ball a little bit.

For example, how many times did you see Gannon get sacked last year? Granted, Oakland had a filthy offensive line but nevertheless that type of offense just doesn't give up many sacks.

Well I think his offensive line was the #1 reason he was never sacked in the post-season, but I think his ability to read the defense and pick up the blitz was #2. There were at least 2 plays where they blitzed, and he rolled out of the pocket away from the rush, and was able to complete passes on those plays. If they keep this kind of performance up next year, they're going to be the top team again.

Oh lord, quit trying to sound like some football guru. Christ, their line did a good job of protecting him, period. The guy passed over 40 times in the game against a team that was considered to have the best front 4 in the game, and against a team that had 40 regular season sacks. Considering no one outside of Boston can name one lineman on that team, that's saying a lot.

Ok. Because you didn't understand what I said it's wrong. New England has the best offensive line in the NFL. Happy now?

Not the best but good enough for NE's offensive scheme and a hell of a lot better than that lard ass "Has Been" Warren Sapp said they were.

I'd have to agree, towards then end of the game when the Panthers figured out how to get pressure on Brady you could tell he wasn't used to it and several times looked like a noobie QB with the ball, he was lucky the only bad thing that happened in those plays was that one INT that didn't cost them the game but certainly prevented them from sealing it.

One hell of a game to watch. The wife and I were in a bar. I think I was the only Carolina fan in there I had fun taunting my wife at the beginning because she is from very close to Vinatieri's home town. Heh.

Very exciting. One of the best games I've seen in a while.

You can't say the what ifs like that. What if adam hadn't missed 2 field goals? What if the Pats had scored instead of that interception? What if Harrison hadn't been injured and the Panthers didn't score that last touchdown(or maybe the 2nd to last, I can't remember? What if that catch that was knocked loose by the pats hadn't been blown dead? What if... you get my point. Its not as easy to predict things as you claim. I think that Pats could have put alot more points on the board if not for a few mistakes.
Sure you can. The two point conversions were coaching decisions that gave up all but assured points. Your what ifs are plays that you really can't speculate about because they happened and there was no decision involved. BTW, I thought that when Vinatieri missed those early FGs that he might have just lost the game, so I know what you mean.

In any case, I don't really fault Fox for the decision to for for two when the game was 16 - 21, but I was just thinking that with so much time left, I would have went for the two point conversion if it would have brought the game within 7 points, but not to bring it within 3. I'd rather have the extra point and see how the game plays out.

Both teams played great. NE lived up to expectations and the Panthers, IMO exceeded expectations. The Panther D did not quite do it consistently, but the Panther O sure played above anyone's expectations I think. In the end, the Pats deserved the win, and if it happened to go the other way, then the Panthers would have deserved the win. It was definately a great game to watch.

Great game, might have even been the best Super Bowl I have seen. Both teams played their hearts out.

Hats off to the Pats

Congrats to the Pats, the first quarter was pretty slow although I still enjoyed it. Good game IMHO. Maybe next year my Eagles can do SOMETHING other than choke in the NFC championship game.

WELL FOLKS........

A few thoughts from a Pats fan......

Commercials SUCKED! (A feeling of been there, done that.)

I nearly fell asleep during the 1st quarter

The Half time show sucked. Why does it always have to be pop 'stars' on the verge of 'has-been-dome' singing songs that were hits 3 years ago

I can't believe all the hype that the JJ showing here not that spectacular 1/2 rack is getting

I sooo wish that CBS showed the streaker getting hit 'sacked' by Pat Matt Chattam

Sure Brady did a Spectacular Job, but I really think Mike Vrabel should of won the MVP title

I really hope to god that Adam Vinateri gets his back 'fixed' in the off-season.

Yes, it is hearsay to say this, but not really the same euphoria as the win in SB 36 Vs. the Rams; but STILL WAY better than anything DA Red Sox have done

Panthers and Titans of 3 weeks ago were the Most difficult opponents all year

Can't wait till the Parade tomorrow!!!

First of all, congrats to the Pats and their fans on a terrific season!
Secondly, I would like to personally thank the Patriots for beating the Panthers and sparing me the months of torment a Panthers SB win would have caused. The NFL just avoided a catastrophe on that one
How can an expansion team with no home and no players win the SB? Just where the hell is this mythical "Carolina" anyway? Is that near "Dakota" somewhere?

What game were you watching? Did you miss all of those roll outs? Half roll outs? Him moving around in the pocket? Most of his traditional dump-offs weren't even used. No screens, I only saw one quick pass to the far receiver. He was not getting the ball to his first read on the majority of his passes. If the pass is short, it doesn't mean he got it out in no time.
