Thr difference between the Pats and the teams the Panthers had to beat in the Playoffs to advance to the SB is that the Pats use the short pass like a running game. The Defensive Line of the Panthers won't have enough time to get to Brady because he takes such short drops and unloads the ball so quickly. The main problem with the Pat Offense was their play in the Red Zone. Against the Panthers it shouldn't be so much a worry because the Panthers aren't that explosive of an offense themselves and the Pat's D is the best!Originally posted by: FreshPrince
Everyone that thinks T. Brady will tear up Panthers D is just plain wrong. They have an awesome pass rush and I believe this will make the game almost unbearable to watch. You will see lots of punts in this game...trust me.

You only think it's crappy because your favorite team is not there. I will be rooting for the Panthers, and I think we have a good chance of winning it. With the kind of beating we put on the Eagles today, McNabb and the receivers mostly, I don't think the Patriots will be able to do any better.
5 turnovers, 6 dropped passes, 5 sacks, were getting manhandled in the secondary with no help from refs, and the panthers still only won by 11
the panthers suck. the eagles just sucked more. they'll get destroyed in the SB
Yep, we manhandled your entire team. You guys were completely dominated the whole time. How can the panthers suck considering how far they have gotten? You can't come up with a good answer.

I'm not thrilled about the NE/CAR matchup (mainly b/c my team, the Vikings, chose to pull the biggest choke job EVER aren't in it). However to say that just b/c teams have good Defense and limited Offense that it is going to be boring is just plain ignorant. More often than not, teams with good Defenses keep the game close and quite exciting at the end. There is nothing wrong with a 17-14 game, you just need to learn to appreciate the schemes and the complexity of what is going on. It is sort of a chess match b/t coaches, coordinators, and players. I like to see offense as well but this should be a decent game and that's all I ask for. I think I'll ahve to say.....GO PATHERS b/c I'm an NFC guy and I like the "rags-to-riches" or "group of castoffs" story for Carolina.

Just out of curiosity: is there anyone here who's not a Panthers fan that is actually looking forward to seeing this team play in the SB? I'm not trying to start anything here, and I certainly am not trying to piss off any Panthers fans (congrats on your team making it to the SB!), I just don't see how anyone other than Panthers or Pats fans could be interested in this SB... I really don't think I could watch the NFL ever again if the Panthers win, especially if it's a sh!tty game.
Anyway, congrats to the fans of both teams and I wish both teams the best of luck. Here's to a better game than what I'm expecting!

Panthers QB is unpredictable at best...
He even said so himself in an interview when asked: In tight situations, would you get rid of the ball or go for it? He said he would go for it. I hope he's more careful, or PATs D will chew him up big time. I would say if the Panthers want to have a chance, they should employ a solid running game with S. Davis and D. Foster. This will prove to be a more useful Offensive tactic and from time to time, mix it up a little with S. Smith to confuse Pats D.
On the other hand, T. Brady has already proven himself to be a geat QB this year. Yes, he does have the short pass down to a science, however, I think the Panthers pass rush D is fast enough to disorient him enough to force him to make mistakes.
It'll be exciting to think about it, but I think it will be boring to watch. I could be wrong though, and this could turn out to be a very exciting SB. Which I'm sure, none of us will mind

I am so sick of hearing this. They went 11-5 this year. They had the 30th ranked strength of schedule (Rams 31, Chiefs 32). And they may boast how they are 7-0 in games decided by 3 points or less, but as we all know close games can go both ways. Just like their 1-15 season they were 0-6 in games decided by 3 points or less. It's really getting old.
Along with the 1 yard in the Week 13 game at Indy was the difference between Indy playing at NE and vice versa. Please. That would change the seeding and the games. You can't say they'd turn out that way to set up the same AFC championship.
And while I'm at it, enough of "Daylight come and you gotta Delhomme!".
Winning two Super Bowls in three years in this day and age would count as a dynasty.
