I'll get right on that. Just as soon as you change yours to asshat

Thanks. Once you give me a reason to change my name, Id do it. I don't call teams who get to the superbowl against incredible odds a "sorry excuse" for a team.

They were obviously better than the rest of the NFC, dipsh!t.

I don't need to give you a reason to change your name, your words are enough reason.
What's so special about the Panthers playoff run this year? They beat the Cowboys who just plain suck ass, they beat the Rams who are probably the most overrated team in the NFL 2nd only to Philly, and they beat the Eagles who are the most overrated team in football.
What's so special about that?
I don't care about their storied history (all 9 seasons of it, oooooooh!) or the fact that they made it to the SB once and almost made it once before. Plenty of teams have done that before. So what if they did it quicker than anyone else? There have only been two expansion teams since the era of free agency began, and the Panthers are one of them.
I hate the Panthers. Deal with it.

The Patriots arrived in 1959, Got massacred in the title game in 1963 by 41 points.
Moved to Foxboro in 1970.
In 1985 they won the AFC Championship! Then got destroyed by the Bears 46-10.
They won the AFC Championship again in 1996, but were soundly defeated 35-21 in the Super Bowl
They squeaked by the Rams and Panthers to win the SuperBowl in 2002 and 2004

The Panthers were founded in 1993, played their first game in 1995(they won, only team in NFL history to win their inaugural game)
Won a division title their second year and beat the defending Superbowl champions in their first playoff game.
NFC Conference Champs in 2004, barely lost to a team riding a 14 game winning streak.

Summary:
It took New England 26 years to win a Conference Championship in a much smaller league.
It took them 43 years to be able to put up a decent team and actually compete and win in the SuperBowl
The Panthers came within a play or two of winning the SuperBowl in less than 10 years of them playing football.
They will beat you next year....twice, that is if you can make it back to the Super Bowl.

Ohhh, this is fun!

Robert Kraft purchased the Patriots in 1994. He hired Bill Parcells as HC. In that year they went 10-6 (won their last 7) and made it to the playoffs. (5-11 in 1993) Since then, New England has appeared in and won 3 AFC Championship games and won 2 Super Bowls.

Summary:
It took New England 9 years to win 3 AFC championships in a large league where "parity" reigns.
It took them 9 years to win 2 Super Bowls.
The Panthers came within a few plays of getting blown out.
The Patriots will not see the Panthers next year because you won't win the division next season (and how you beat a team twice when they don't even play each other is beyond me)

And finally, Houston won their inaugural game last year, so the Panthers are not "only team in NFL history to win their inaugural game".

I hate the Panthers. Deal with it.

What's special is that it was done with a QB who wasn't drafted, was second string in NFL Europe, and no one, NO ONE, thought we would get to the superbowl except for the team itself. I am pretty sure we were picked to lose to at least the Rams and the Eagles.

I don't care about the history of the Panthers either. I didn't follow the panthers much at all since the team was created. I was too young to care.

Obviously you hate the Panthers, yet you can't come up with a decent fvcking reason why. Grow...up.

Like I said in another thread, I'm glad for all this Janet Jackson BS. Let the Patriots fly under the radar, that's perfectly fine with me. With 4 picks in the first two rounds of the draft, and Rosevelt Colvin coming back after missing all but the first game, I'm not worried about our chances of repeating as Super Bowl Champs, but the rest of the NFL sure as hell better be. I'm interested in seeing exactly how they handle the RB situation. Antowain Smith has 2 rings now, I don't think he'll re-sign for less money. We'll see what Belichick can magically wheel-n-deal.

Smith won't be back. I hope Colvin is back to where he was, we can only wait and see. I think we're either going to have to use those extra picks to pick up a RFA RB or move up in the draft and get Stephen Jackson. It's time to cash out.
