NEC 1760V 17" LCD $349.90 AC @ Staples

I was in my local Staples today and they have this monitor on Clearance for $379.90. You can use a $30 off coupon and get it for $349.90 with no rebate to worry about. It is a great price for a nice monitor but it does NOT have DVI.

That is pretty decent deal but you have to factor in taxes on $350 (total around $380ish).
Add a little more and you can get 18" online.

You can get the same size LCD at Dell most of the time for around $350 shipped.

You people forget that is the 16ms model, thus making it a bit more expensive than similar 17 inch lcds. 16ms is essential for fast moving games such as FPS'.

Yes, that is a pretty price for that beauty. It's a shame it's minus the DVI though, but then again it most likely would'nt be a clearance price then. I think the response time is only matched by Hitachi which still go for near $500.

Whether the monitor has dvi or not isn't the reason it's on clearance. Staples b&m is clearancing all the NEC lcd monitors.

Don't forget there is a Staples $50 rebate on the 1760.

I only saw a $50 rebate for the 1765. Do you have a link for the rebate on the 1760?

I only saw a $50 rebate for the 1765. Do you have a link for the rebate on the 1760?

btw...this is the rebate for the black monitor. If you bought the putty colored lcd there is also a $50 rebate on it.

These monitors got great reviews and c'mon folks, you don't have to have DVI, loss of quality from conversion is no longer an issue with todays video cards and high quality components in the monitors. Now I just have to debate if I should get this and sell my old 21" HP trinitron or not.

I snagged one of these yesterday and I am very pleased with it. I bought it to go dually, my existing 17" lcd is a Samsung 760V analog display (almost 2 years old). I thought the Samsung looked good till I got the NEC unit. The NEC does look better. After 24 hours the only nitpick I have with it is the function buttons for the OSD are nearly impossible to read.

Staples in Aurburn hills, Rochester Hills, and Taylor (Michigan) are oos for this lcd. They have floor models but I highly doubt anyone wants to get a floor lcd.

You don't want a floor mode. They've been running pretty much all day and people constantly touch/scratch the screen.
