How do I get my player to burn CDs at full speed? I'm using nero 6. and it's only showing up a speed of 32x when the drive is capable of 48x!

It's a very picky burner and won't burn many 40-52x rated discs at higher than 32x. I installedn a Lite-On combo drive to defeat that problem.

I've been trying to find a single mention about the drive on the NEC website and has been unable to find these firmware drivers anywhere there. And it is a POS.

Download the firmware here.

Jesus...no!
If you download firmware, get it from the NEC site. Pirated firmware can ruin hardware.

Okay, maybe "pirated" was the wrong word. My point is, some firmware flashers are made by idiots who don't know what they're doing (yet think they do). Unless you want to push your drive beyond its specified speeds, get official firmware.

Are you fvcking serious? Do you know how much testing went into the development of this firmware and how many people have used it including myself?
And how the fvck is it "pirated"? The firmware is free, they just made modifications, for the better.

You're the guy who's cursing over nothing. And, while I'm not certain, I'm pretty confident that I know a whole lot more than yourself.
Maybe you should have researched me before you braved an insult....

Dude, if you knew me, which you don't, you would realize I "curse" all of the time...it isn't meant to be personal. And good job actually adressing what I said...I still suggest you actually read the thread. This isn't some hackjob done by a 13 year old, this is a serious undertaking to create better firmware for the 3520a.
I am equally confident that I know more than you, this being a good example.
