NEC 8x Dual Layer DVD Burner down to $79.99

This is a good price for a DL burner, but for me I'm leaning more toward getting the 2500A because I figure by the time that the media cost comes down faster DL drives will be available for below $75. It just seems like too soon to be jumping on the DL bandwagon.

SO HOW DO I MAKE NERO SEE THIS BAD BOY? Windoze sees it, but Nero ignores it as a writeable drive completely.


Do I have to wait for the next revision - I'm running 5.5, and those don't get revised very often!

You might need 6.0 for dvd burners.

Bummer. I'm running Nero 5.5.9.14. Is it confirmed that this burner won't work with 5.5.x Nero? [I have NOT ordered yet...]

I picked up a BTC 8X single layer burner for $40 new.

I figure I use this until DL media becomes more affordable, by that time the DL drives should be cheaper as well, maybe ~$50???
