hmmm maybe i should sell my sony dual burner on ebay and pick this up. Looks like all i'd be giving up is the 8mb buffer for a 2mb buffer, but at least this has a normal face that I can stealth. And I'd make a little profit in the mean time.

most i have heard of is vcd doing about 810mb on a 700mb cdr

When Mysticman says that it burns up to 1.4gb. He means HD burn technology that sanyo developed and is applied in this optorite drive.
Its a technology that allows the burned pits and "whatever" distance to be smaller. Hence you can squeece more data in the same amount of space. Normal CDR would have diffeculty being burned at 1.4GB as they dont result in recognizable pits. TaiyoYuden is reccommended and proven to burn well with HD burn.


Think of it like a Turbo. Only you use the same engine and fuel but it just give you more juice.
