As a former employee of Staples, I know for a fact that they can price match to internet competitors. When price-matching, the cash register brings up a list of the places to price match with, and "Internet Competitor" is definitely on there. Heck, they can price match to just about anything as long as there's some way to prove it. You should call the corporate office and complain; that's just not right.

Btw, the store I worked at had a kiosk setup to demonstrate cable internet access, and if you didn't supply the shipping information they'd just go look it up online through their kiosk.

The drive on NEC website is not digital signed! How did you guys make this monitor work at XP?
I mean how to do 1024*768 @ 100hz or higher? My monitor trembles a lot. I am considering returning it.

For those in the maryland area, the greenbelt store has one left since i got mine friday. I use the compu-america site for the pm and the $30 off $150 coupon that expired May 17. they also said the samething about not pm'ing with online retailers but i told the guy their pricematch policy states they would for online retailers and ask him if they have a pc onsite w/ internet access. he went and talked to the manager who ok'd the deal. the guy comes back and said they would pm the $149 I reminded him that the pm policy states "110% if price difference" so he goes back to the manager who made some calls then after some time gave me 110%. on the way to the cashier, i whipped out my $30 off $150- he just looked at it and then gave it to the cashier to do the deal. The Manual shows what NEC can do at 1280x1024, but you may have a limitation in your Video Cards Max. refresh rate at 1280x1024.

P.S. Do NOT get hung up on refresh rates above 85HZ! The faster the beam scans, the color saturation starts to slacken off! As long as there is no flicker, that should be OK.

I got in on this deal and so far quite impressed with the display of the monitor.

I do have one negative aspect about the monitor though.

The stand/base, supports the monitor very well in the axis from front to rear, however, the axis from left to right is very "flimsy" to say the least.

I have no idea why they have designed it like this.

If you shake your table or monitor you can have your own monitor pendulum

I bought this monitor last week. They pricematched it to that web site's price with a subtotal of 135.90 (tax 11.21). They didn't even charge me any shipping. When I went to the checkout the assistant manager started questioning which place I was pricematching the monitor. He thought it was CompUsa and that they were always out of stock. For a minute I thought he might squash the deal I had made with customer service. When i showed him the coupon he said it could be used online only. I didn't want to make a scene so I just bought it. Could have been a great deal. At least they didn't charge shipping.

It is actually a "flat" screen (even the box says this!) - it just doesn't have the piece of glass bonded onto the CRT to make it a "perfect" flat screen

Look at a Samsung "perfect flat" or whever they call them it's the same type of CRT with a "flat" frontage.

Not worth worrying about in the least apart from aesthetics if you ask me

I just scored this monitor this afternoon. Charged me no shipping. Things went so well that my coupon for $30 of $150 turned into only $15 off because it was only $144 with no shipping charges! doh! Oh well ended up being $128 out the door and will be $98 when its all done. What a sweet deal for a nice montor! Thanks everyone.

I just opened the box and hooked up to my bro's computer. Actually this is not really flat as I expected. My old 5 years old 17" XV17+ is flatter than this 1 and my FE950 is the flattest 1 I have.
