What sort of bad pixel policy does NEC have on these monitors? I would be very skeptical about a refurbed LCD monitor without a clear explanation of how many bad pixels it must have before it can be returned.

I disagree. I think such things are highly subjective.

16ms is barely acceptable for me, but my friend has a 25ms one that he has no problems with (and when I game with it i notice ghosting, but he doesn't).

I think everybody's taste/eyesight differs, so what might work for one might not for another.

doing calculations, 16ms is exactly 60FPS, so that should be sufficient for approximately 100% of the population (that's about what our eyes scan at).

25ms is ~40FPS, but that is highly misleading because don't think video game FPS here. the FPS reading you get from your video card in a video game is average FPS, which tells you almost nothing significant. What is more important is the lowest FPS during the timedemo, and generally I find that most people can get by with a minimum FPS of 35-40, so 25ms should be fine for most people.

I personally cannot, but that is just me. Your best bet would be to take a visual inspection of the LCD in question and see if it is ok for you.

A lot of these were sent back due to improper backlighting, not bad pixels... still, these refurbs have one year parts and labor from nec. Usually if works out of the box, it'll work for years to come.

Mediocre review of FE991SB

The FE991SB is a 19" CRT monitor and the 1545V is a 15" LCD display. It's really like comparing apples and oranges.

I've been using one for months and like it... Don't base your opinion on one review at a place like eopinions.. the review posted above sounds like the guy got a lemon. PCmag had a review last year on this monitor and gave it an 8.5... like I said, I bought two of them today from the deal posted here. They're going to be used on a business machine with dual display and for that they're great. Very small footprint, no garbage on the frame, good color and clarity.

How does the 1550V compare to this monitor? Just asking because you can get a refurbed 1550V for $229 here:

I can't find any differance! Literally. I've also got one 1550V and the manuel reads exactly the same as the 1545V, at least on the spec page and features page. Even the copywrite on the display reads the same.

You can go the the nec site and dl both to check for yourself.

I find these monitors perfect for my business.....
