NEC's LCD flatpanels

Hi There, I need some help deciding which LDC flatpanel to get. There is a sale going on right now , massive savings!

I need to know whats the difference between these 2 monitors:

NEC MultiSync LCD1765 (What the heck is Multisync?)

Now also there's a sony one, The Sony's S73H, i hear they give 3 year warrantys.

Now the 2 NEC ones above are both 16ms response time, isnt that really good for gaming?? Im a hard core online gamer so i could sure use that.

Now, the LCD 1715 is 130$ canadian cheaper then the 1765 so i need to know what the difference is. They both look the same to me!!

If you're a gamer, you would want to get the display with the lower ms timings, as you will be getting less "ghosting" on fast-moving games.

MultiSync is NEC's way of saying that their displays are able to handle multiple refresh rates at any given resolution. Not really important for an LCD flat panel, as you will probably use at 60Hz, wich gives the best results. Flat panels don't suffer from flickering at low refresh rates as CRTs do.

The difference in the price tag may be higher contrast ratios. You want something like 400:1 (wich means that the monitor's black is 400 times darker than it's white) or higher. DVI input options is a factor that might add a few $$$ to the price.

Be carefull with Sony, I believe most of their monitors only have 1 year parts & labour warranty.

And it's like 90 days for NEW replacement parts or something. Anything after that, they'll send you refurbs or used monitors up to a year.

get NEC... nec make the only LCDs that has the contrast comparable to a CRT.. very bright... and there's no "streaking" at all...
my neighbor has an NEC and an 18.1" hitachi... and the hitachi isn't even comparable... NEC is the best LCD I have ever seen...
but then I would always still get a CRT...
