Aha, I made a mistake with my original model number, but the 4690 was the unit we had at home. My wife was working from a home office. It was $350 US about 10 years ago, so I figured it would have been cheaper by now. The print, scanning and copying capabilities were wonderful on this device, plus it was ver yeasy to splice into our home network to make it possible to easily print from any device.
It may be a little heavy handed for a casual home user, but if you do any measure of printing and need quality, this was a very solid, easy to use device.
It also came with network scanning and OCR (Character recognition) scanning software that allowed you to easily scan devices into word processing packages or other software to manipulate and save. I could turn a listener on at my pc, then scan a printout into my word processor directly...very handy.
