Hi guys,

My apartment lease ends on July 20 of this year and I really can't continue with the rent... can't keep up with the rent payment as I keep losing my job. Plus I will soon owe $5000 balance in my credit card. I can't pay my car payment and insurance either. The bank will have to repo my car soon. I really will have to move to the wilderness. I'm going to fix my bicycle.. somebody stole both my wheels (front and back) in the past so I will need to buy wheels and tires. I need bicycle working so I can commute to work. I still have to work to pay my credit card bill...

I will have to buy me a tent (Snugpak Tactical Bunker tent) and wood stove to get me going. I really fear greatly about not having heat.... It's so cold over here and I concern when it rains how am I going to keep myself warm?

I am also concerned somebody may come steal my stuff in the tent while I'm gone for work... If I get myself a little bunkhouse I can lock it when I'm away. Can somebody who has experience in building a little bunkhouse out of pallets or lumber would be kind to contact me to build me a little 8'x8' bunkhouse for cheap? It needs a door. I would like one tiny window. It needs wood stove installed to be used as a heater and food cooking. I don't need a bathroom I just go outside to take a dump. Anyone who lives in or near Indianapolis area? I have a place in mind where to have a bunkhouse built. We need to meet, I will show you a place and you can give me a quote on how much is it gonna be.. I can only go up to $500 that's it. It doesn't have to be high quality fancy house just need a working shelter to keep the water out when it rains. I really need help.

Moved from Home & Garden. It is difficult to find an appropriate forum; OT will have to do. IF you think the OP is a troll posting in bad faith, please pass this thread by. IF you think the OP has emotional/mental problems that cannot be addressed here, please ALSO pass this thread by. IF you have offered good faith advice and feel the OP has not heard you, there is no need to post again, is there?

back to the toilet question--you planning to shit in a bucket or just bury it? why no toilet?

I'm sure @Greenman would be more than happy to build you a shelter, for a price, but I doubt he would do it without hookups.

The location is by the trees... you can take dump anywhere there. I just need to go to grocery store to get food and water. I don't need electric connections either.

Having living in the wilderness would take away burden from me a big time...not having to pay rent, car, insurance, utility, etc etc..

well, depending on the location of these trees, it is entirely possible that: no, you can not just take a dump anywhere there. Also, you can't just "build a structure," of any preferred design on any random lot, just because you want to.

What are you talking about there is no lot...it's not a housing division. It's a wilderness where the homeless people reside. Some live in the tents... I know one of them lives in a little bunkhouse he built himself.

You sound young... btw.

Build a structure in a random place and someone can randomly tear it down when they feel like it. Ask anyone in the local homeless encampments. If you're that broke just sell everything of value and keep valuables on your persons at all times. That's what being homeless is all about.

so you think that you can build an actual structure "in the wilderness" and it won't cause real problems for you?

OK, kid.

Empirically: I'm not young, but whatever my issues, at least I don't believe that "the demons!" are wrecking my life. Again, your issues are in you head. Your inability to keep work, relate with people, be responsible with money, maintain structure in your life are all just symptoms of your real problems.

I don't have anything valuable I got rid of all my precious stuff many years ago. I don't even have a proper bed.... I have clothes and a computer and a phone that's all I have. Once I get a sleeping bag, a tent, and a few misc items I don't want those things get stolen.... which is why I would like a little shed / bunkhouse. Look I don't even need a window. Just need a door to lock it... and I do need wood stove built in to the shed. Maybe I should draw a sketch of the shed I want so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

Why you going off topic by picking on my personal life? I'm simply asking for someone who has experience in building a little bunkhouse to come out and get me an estimate and build me one. You believing demons or not is not my problem... it's yours. Don't bring that here in this thread. This is about building a shed, or a bunkhouse, a tiny one.

OP, why don't you try building it yourself? It's just a hammer, nails and wood. If you can't do something as simple as that, you won't survive in the wild.

If you think you can't do it, it's just the demons in your head telling you that. Believe in God and He will guide you to the light.

I don't have the knowledge or experience to build shed. I don't do any wood work, especially the structure... you need special tools to do that.

Here is a youtube video of bunkhouse.. but even this is too good for me. I don't have to have windows. I just need a door, and wood stove installed on the wall...with outlet pipe running through the wall.

Did you already forget that this is the 3rd, maybe 4th time you have posted this same troll thread?

You aren't going to find a legitimate or decent contractor who will build you a wooden bunkhouse for $500 or less. More likely a couple grand.

Use that money to buy a one way plane ticket to a warmer state where being homeless is easier and you don't have to worry about heat and freezing.

If you don't have anything constructive and helpful post to make just don't bother responding.. There are plenty of other threads you can check out.

It's for someone who's willing to help me out... not to make large profit, or even perhaps make no profit at all... It's about helping out other fella. I can't afford anything expensive anymore as I already lost nearly $2000 on a Tiny House I bought previously... My job problem caused me to cancel the whole thing. I am actually thinking about moving out of state.... there is a guy I know in Texas who has experience in building professional homes and buildings maybe he could help me. I sent him an email to ask. I don't know what he will say... $500 is max I can handle...

you mean a guy that brought in all his own materials and tools and did all the work himself...did it all for $160????

You don't say, eh? You might learn that other people's labor is actually worth more than your fake threads.

Buy land in an unorganized township so you don't need permits or any of that BS. This will allow you to build it yourself without having to worry about inspections or anything of that sort, and it will be cheap since it will only cost you your materials.

Build an outhouse first since you'll need a place to go, and then build the house. You could probably even pipe the drains to the outhouse, though a septic bed is probably a good idea. Don't put the septic too close to where you get your water from.

Been toying with buying off grid property myself for a while, though for me it will be a camp and only be lived full time once I retire or if I find a remote job. Way cheaper to live off grid so more money left to save for other things.

I'm eyeing a property about an hour from my city, waiting for the snow to melt so I can go check the area, the road is not plowed. It's not lake front though, I feel if I buy a property like that I should aim for river or lake front. Lot of lakes in the area though. There is a creek nearby though, hard to judge how big or deep it is from google maps but if I can fit a canoe in it then that would be cool.

Not to plug my channel but... here's a time lapse of my shed build up to the point of putting up the plywood.

There are other videos after that which are more vlog style where I go through other parts of the build. Might at least let you see some basics of what is involved.

In a place where you don't have municipal restrictions you would build bigger though.
