At least if you can get into a prison you would have protection and become somebodys buddie who will protect and watch out for you!!

I have watched all the 'Lockup' shows, and from what I know, "Darkside" is still in there. He probably would be one to best watch out for a new inmate.

You guys obviously did not look at my link before resorting to personal attacks and name calling.

https://thinkprogress.org/aaron-swa...-slave-dealers-and-bank-robbers-8b19a32e4ec5/

There is tons of info online on Aaron Swartz. The US government always wants to give huge sentences for this sort of thing "to show an example" it's ridiculous.

Also remember Kevin Mitnick? He went through the same kind of thing. He got "lucky" that they made a deal for him to work for them but he was in a maximum security prison for a while.

Or Kim Dotcom. He did not even pirate or hack anything, he just made a platform that somewhat enabled it. They went as far as extraditing him from his country.

My point was just to say how easy it is to land in jail if you want free room and board, not that it's a good idea to do that... would rather live in the bush then in jail.

You make it sound like we maintain an assembly line of crime, violence, and unfairly persecuted "noble hackers" in the USA. As you always do. Again: proudly claiming the superiority of your isolation and complete lack of interest in learning about anywhere else, then loudly judging how things are done in such places, based on your hilariously limited selective education about such places and people from afar, does not make any strong case for anyone else taking you seriously.

I agree that what happened to Swartz was terrible and realistically, the punishment was completely undeserved...but it was the law. Problem is that in some cases, and often for good reason, individuals are selected as examples for these crimes because in most cases, these crimes are very serious. It certainly appears that the issue with justice is that those people that are selected are the ones with the least power and the least wealth. Yeah, that is a tragedy; but this isn't unique anywhere. But that is something of a different topic, and probably the more useful topic to discuss.

I also suspect that this topic is particularly sensitive for you because you maintain a some billion terabyte server in your basement that, and I'm merely speculating based on your various other posts in these forums, is likely loaded with stolen material that represents many international, federal crimes. I mean...just saying. ...of course you think the world owns everything so it's just not right to call copyrighted content stolen. ...so, so tragically unfair.

I just don't agree with virtual crimes getting more time than physical ones. A guy breaks into a mom and pop store, and steals all their computer systems, he gets "Theft under $5,000", which is basically a slap on the hand and sent on their way.

A guy does ping -f to a megacorporation's server, or downloads a movie made by a megacorporation, and gets prison or sued for millions.

The law system is completely retarded when it comes to this stuff.

As for my servers thankfully here in Canada there is a cap on how much they can charge you. There has been some new stricter laws that came out but because they are capped, nobody has been charged yet that I know of. It's not like the states where you can get sued for millions for each mp3 or movie. I don't recall what the max is, it's like 15k or something. It would still be a devastating amount for most individuals, but it's something that's still somewhat manageable with a loan. I think you get 3 strikes as well before you get sued. Not too sure and have yet to hear anyone getting hit. Though to be fair it seems even the states have slown down with that. You used to hear of grandma's and people who don't even download getting sued and seems they stopped doing that.

...

But anyway that's totally off topic at this point. I simply said it's easy to get into jail if someone wanted to actually go, and it blew up.

I still think OP's best bet if he is truly serious is to buy a small piece of land in an unorganized township, and build there. Start with the tent and an outhouse because you need a place to poop, and then build something a bit bigger and more winterized, with wood stove. Can probably build a "worlds worst shed" style house for under a grand and make it half decent enough to live in. But I also think mental help may be in order before even considering any of that.

I do like the idea of living off grid in nature myself though, it's my eventual goal, but I'm kinda aiming for the luxery suite. Full blown multi story cottage overseeing a lake, with surrounding porch, wood stove, A/C, a giant garage, lots of toys, solar power etc. Cheaper to live and funner quality of life once everything is built the way I like. Just more initial work to get there, and a bit more maintenance.

I still think that moving to a warmer state would be best for the OP. Being homeless in a warmer climate is much easier than the cold state that you currently live in.

Thanks. But I fear about bugs... I don't want ants come inside.. the tent I'm planning to get is Snugpak Tactical Bunker shelter tent. It does good job keeping the bugs out, it's got ventilation, and is a 4-season and does good job in the rain and snow.
Tent living is not for you.

well, it's still value-based. That data is actually worth quite a bit and while certainly the victims are probably going to claim and extremely high value to their data, you have to understand that their business is the data--it's not hardware. Subscriptions to scientific journals are the revenue stream for the most part, and granting free access to all of that generally means the end of that business. same with entertainment IP. Sure, it's not completely black and white, but at the end of the day, the content owners have every right to own the actual content they created and choose how it is distributed in such a way as to keep producing content.

I'm sorry, but if the studio invested hundreds of millions of dollars into creating a film, what gives you the right to decide that it should be free, available to everyone, and that the studio shouldn't have a model for actually earning money off of the actual work that they do? Just because something is digital doesn't make it no longer a thing. No longer an actual physical property. Such rights, should, in fact, be the exact same as if that content was on physical celluloid. It is still property. How could that possibly make any kind of logical sense that its value is suddenly free in this new world, if the same cost and effort and labor is involved in creating it? None of that has changed. Why do these hundreds of thousands of honest employees not deserve to be paid for their legitimate work? That is literally the argument of every digital thief right now.

I have even worse news today. I just tried to file tax return for the 2018 and the federal wants $843 from me. That's how much I owe. This shared responsibility payment / Affordable Care Act is killing me as they charge me $700 for not having health insurance... How am I going to pay this?? There is no way I can do it. Looks like I'll have to save money and pay that while I'm homeless.... Everything is just getting worse and worse for me.

Yesterday I signed the paper to stop the renewal for my apartment rent when the contract ends.. Me moving out to the wilderness is 100% guaranteed. You can be sure of that.

well that's an obvious lie because there is no penalty in 2018 for not having health insurance. move along. Also, it wouldn't be a $700 penalty. I think it was more like $200-400? at the most? Also, assuming you had essentially zero income to report, or certainly well below any kind of filing minimums, if you actually want us to believe this bullshit that you keep posting about your fantasy life, then there is no fucking way that you owe the feds $843.

What, you think you're the only one that pays taxes and goes through this every year? lol moron.

Why don't you call the H&R Block and ask them? The Affordable Care Act is still in effect. Trump tried to remove it but the government said "NOOOOOOO" They want money so bad so they can make Military Industrial complex rich so they can finance more and more wars to do more evil things.
I earned $18,000 last year according to my W2's.. How do you think I've been paying my rent? If I hardly made any money I would not be able to pay rent at all.. I said I gone through countless jobs last year (this year is just as bad too) but I did work...

The gov charges $695 for an individual who did not get health insurance for the whole year... It was like that in 2017 too. You didn't know????

Oh and btw I got a call from my employer yesterday that I got fired... They fired me cause I kept leaving work early.... (I worked 2~ 4 hrs a day)

Hah! I thought it was removed for last year, but that only takes effect in 2019. So the ACA is till here, but penalty is removed. ACA will be around forever though. Trump will be in prison before the ACA disappears. lol, you do know that the ACA has actually reduced costs across the board for the population, and is actually cheaper for the government to run? They aren't really pulling in extra money to send to the military--it is paying for costs of the ACA and it is cheaper. That's just what is happening.

Anyway, it's probably really just the demons in the end.

imagine that--keep leaving work early and you get fired? No one saw that coming.

Just to play along, since someone else may see it... You don't have to pay the aca fine, and they can't collect it from you. They can seize federal refund money you may get, but otherwise, they can't get money from you.

All this healthcare, fines and penalties, taxes, etc etc most of that money goes to the U.S. military budget... and make politicians rich. They make ton of money on healthcare... abortion, drugs, etc.

How am I gonna pay $843?? How?

And I am looking for a job... waiting for a phone call from staffing companies...

What happens if I don't file income tax and not pay? How is that going to affect me? Aren't they going to sue me or have police to arrest me? I'm afraid. Also wouldn't this prevent me from getting a job? This is government we are dealing with you know

I wouldn't worry about it. They rarely catch up with homeless people, they don't have an address.

No, you won't be arrested. No, you won't be sued by the gov't. No, you won't go to jail. And no, no future employer will be aware of this situation when they hire you. YES, you can probably make a payment plan with the IRS. Or . . . you can ignore it for the time being, which is not advisable, but you can. It will take them a looooong time, probably years, to catch up with you, as the IRS is understaffed and you are not a big fish at all.

Right now, you are emotionally overwhelmed and see only insurmountable problems. YOU NEED OUTSIDE HELP. Start googling every social service you can, FOCUS, and devote several consecutive days to calling each and every one, AND ASKING FOR HELP. Make this your number one priority, AND START RIGHT NOW.

Thank you Perknose that makes me feel better.. Yeah I'm one of the smallest fishes!

I feel it's wrong to not pay tax I owe... Even though it's dirty money, Jesus will want me to pay cause that's what I owe. I can't pay it right now obviously... I should be able to save some money when I go homeless and get a job... I don't want to keep charging on my credit cad I have to treat her nicely cause she is the only thing that backs me up financially. The ONLY thing I rarely missed payment is the credit card bill.. cause I'm afraid if I stop paying credit card bill they might freeze my account. That means I'm finished, history....

President Trump is actually a good man (chosen by God). Trump will fulfill bible prophecy.. Trump wants to do the right thing but his government people won't allow him. They don't listen to his order and they go out of their own ways and Trump has no choice but to ride along the tsunami wave they have created... He is helpless. Pray for him, so that he can take over and fix it up.

Guys this morning was so cold.. it was 45 degrees out. Took my Solo Stove out and fired her up to get me warm..

And I received the Coleman propane gas stove and a Solar charger.. check it out.

Search Google for "aca hardship exemption" and see if any of it applies to you. Fill out the form and submit to the government. Hopefully there's a line item on there for mental illness.

Trump can afford an accounting team and legal team to insure that he pays no taxes. Cheez can't afford that anymore, it seems.

I'm curious what happened to all of that fancy stereo equipment he used to have... did that all go on eBay?

I didn't even sell those cables I threw them out in the trash container so that the trash truck comes to pick them up. Those were some of the most expensive power cables I have ever purchased and worked well... but I had to let them go as it's idolatry to God's kingdom.

I did sell my audio receiver and expensive speakers on ebay. I then gave that money away for charity to a other brother in Christ so he can help others.

I gave away lot of other valuable stuff like brand new leather couch set and other furniture when I moved out of my house. I can't keep them in my apartment as I have no room for them. I have no room even without any furniture.. it's that small (280 sq ft).

Since then I've been using my $200 computer without a case, with a pair of $15 Logitech computer speakers.

18k a year is enough to live on in the midwest. The way you were going on I figured you were unemployed way more than employed. I live on just over $1500/month but thats with paying $300/month for health insurance. Just keep working the way you do and pay your rent.

You should of been asking us how to budget not how to live in the woods. $400 for a studio in the hood on the bus line, $80 elec, $40 cell, $50 internet, $40 for a bus pass, $300 for food and you can save money at ~$1350/month take home, after you pay off that credit card. Well you should save up a little emergency fund while you pay the minimum payment. Especially since you work sporadically, get a few thousand in the the bank and start putting extra to the credit card. If you tithing which I gather from your last post stop that immediately you need it more than the church.

OP you seriously do need mental help, and it's not a bad thing, mental health is a big issue these days and is not a well understood thing by many, but when you suffer you need to seek help and not let it build up. Since you're a believer in Christ seek help from a church to see if they can help direct you to a counselor. If you are lucky there may even be one that attends the church that is willing to help you for free. Or the pastor or elders or anyone who is part of the church may be willing to help you in other ways.

When I had depression I found out about the pastor at one of our local Pentecostal churches and he actually helped me out, for free. I don't even go to that church. And he was not just some dude that happens to be good at counseling, he was actually a certified counselor, he just chose to do it for the church instead of running an actual practice. It's worth checking into.
