what are the specific requirements? actual maximum current needed? ripple?

if the needs are pretty rough a linear supply would do

120VAC-> (68+ VA XFRMR ) ->16 VAC out -> Diode Bridge -> Filter Cap -> 16VDC Out

or do it the another way and use a old ATX supply + a boost converter

120VAC-> ATX Supply ->12VDC->Boost Converter->16VDC Out

Plug in required values into one of those National/TI/Linear switcher cad programs voila!

hmmmm.
I am not sure. What i need to power are 5 or 6 xantech SPLCD64V touch panels
Right now i am using a generic power brick that is 16V 3.16A
I know the specs for the panels call for 16V 750mA
I just want to be able to attach them to a single PS with multiple outputs so it is neat and clean looking, and i don't have to use more than one PS

If there are any EE here that can do this for a reasonable price, I would love to hear from you
to get an idea of what i am looking for

You're not going to get anyone to do it for cheap because sourcing single quantity components is expensive.

If you just need 16VDC out, use a transformer and build a linear supply. Cheap, easy, and fast.

cheap is a relative term.
I am open to suggestions, but do not have the knowledge base to do this myself. I can get the parts, and pay someone to put them together if needed.
I just figured it would be somewhat easy for somebody with the reight skillset

Transformer:
http://www.newark.com/NewarkWebCommerce...1UE2CXDUY2SFFYK2OTCIIV1?SKU=03F632&N=0

That's Newark PN 03F632 if that link doesn't work...

That'll give you just over 16 VDC when rectified.

Bridge rectifier:
http://www.newark.com/NewarkWebCommerce...UE2CXDUY2SFFYK2OTCIIV1?SKU=58K1561&N=0

Newark PN 58K1561

Capacitor:

Newark PN 01E9622

Wire those together like the supply shown here: http://sound.westhost.com/power-supplies.htm

(look at the first picture, mainly)

That's all there is to it. That will give you, nominally, 17VDC which will drop to about 16 VDC due to the bridge rectifier.

Oh, and it'll cost you like $45, but you'll have to get your own box to put it in.

Go get a generic laptop power brick (a 16 V model - or mod the feedback resistors on a 19 V one). Cut off the end of the power cable, and attach a multiheaded cable.

Or slap a string of power diodes (~4) on a 19V model to drop the voltage if you don't feel like opening it up. Less elegant, but much easier!
