Need a custom size frame

I recently when to the Art Institute in Chicago and bought a cheapish ($15) print of one of the paintings. It was pre-matted and I wanted to get a frame for it. The whole contraption is 13" x 20", but I don't think I can get a pre-fabricated frame for that size.

Any places that are good for making custom sized frames, maybe something I can assemble myself?

Thanks.

Not sure about Chicago, but every big city I've lived in has a a custom framing store like Aaron Brothers or similar. Here is a Google search for you.

Also consider just re-matting it and buying a standard size frame, likely cheaper.

Hm... there is one a few blocks away from me. I'll check it out tomorrow. It should be too much for a basic frame and glass cover.

You can't just change the mat sizing to get it to fit a standard frame?

You can also buy premade metal sectional frames in any size in 1" increments at michaels or aaron brothers. Very cost effective if metal works for you

I looked at that, and it looks like it's glued down pretty well. I don't want to rip the print pulling it out.

Why bother pulling the print? Cut some of the matte away thereby reducing the overall width and height of the total size.

13 x 20 should be a standard size in a frame shop...there is one even on ebay right now (7/8" only).

Some hardware stores sell the framing material too. Just cut to size and finish.
