Just wondering what the best mousepad <25 bucks is nowadays. I've been looking at fUnc and Ratpadz but I would love a little feedback!

Get an optical mouse, use your desk. No excuse for mousepads these days unless you have a glass table.

Alternative opinion:
I use the RAXOR XTREME GamerZ Ultra-X SharpPad NoobKilla SLI-ready WasteOf$$$ UberPad with one side for precision shots and one side for smooth control!!!!!!!!!

Wowwww... the Noobkilla... that's sick fast mousing surface there!

I use those foam rubber with cloth top mouspads. Cheap and effective and reduce wear on my desktop which I find can be a real issue with no mousepad.

What's a mousepad?

Seriously, just use your desk and get an optical mouse/laser mouse.

My desk grinds the feet off of my mouse. I'm using a Scooby Doo cloth pad, and I don't see switching any time soon. I've tried a bunch of different pads, and always come back to cloth :^)

I use an MX1000 and it has difficulty tracking on desks, cloth mousepads, paper, etc. pretty much everything except a flat glossy surface. Extreme stutter. This is the second MX1000 i've gone through and I've still not found the magical tracks on everything mouse that this is supposed to be.

I used an Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 for three years and it'd track on everything from bedsheets to jeans to desk, table, stacks of newspaper and hard wood floors. Since then I've bought a few newer versions of the Intellimouse and i'm on a laser version now and they're all at least as good if not better. Perhaps the models you've had are unreliable or faulty?

i've had my func pad surface 1030 for 7 years. I think it is the only computer component from 7 years ago that I still have to this day.

In our new house we bought four years ago, the wife and I bought some rather nice furniture for our home office. We didn't want to wear down the areas our mice would roam, so we decided to get mousepads...I have an MX700, she has the old Intelli.

The surfaces of our RatPads are started to get quite a bit of visible wear after four years.

But that's nothing. The db levels of my mouse gliding across the surface of my desk is about four times louder than it is against my worn RatPadz. And yeah, after a couple of years previously against the old surface in the old house, I feel my RatPadz gives me better precision as well.

I haven't ever used a mousepad before my RatPadz, so I can't give an objective viewpoint for which one you should buy. But I can tell you it's a lot better than the surface of your desk.

Standard cloth mousepad works just as well as those expensive pads, especially if you have the teflon coated mouse feet/skates. Just make sure you get a good sized pad if you use large motions while gaming

The finish on my desk makes using an optical mouse on it impossible. As such, I use a mousepad that I picked up at a dollar store.

I'm surprised by the amount of you that use a mousepad. I just have some cheapo-desk I bought at walmart and it doesn't make noise while moving my mouse around (logitech g5) or grind the skates off. I actually have a mousepad but I never used it beyond one time (Icemat) and that was cause it makes a horrible noise when I move my mouse around on it.

I have a mousepad from... 1991? 92? Something like that. It is cloth, from the old Electronics Boutique store.

Or, more accurately, it *was* cloth. At this point it is probably just a solid mass of dirt and grime. It's frankly a little disgusting, but no virulent diseases have come from it yet, so I have continued to use it.

Really? I had an MX1000 for almost 3 years before I replaced it with an MX Revolution, and it never had any issues tracking either my pressboard desk or cloth mouse pad.

I always use a cloth mousepad to prevent the pads on the bottom of my mouse from wearing away.
