Need a good wav to mp3 converter

Hello. I just bought an mp3 player and I need to convert a few wavs to mp3s. I went to download.com but everything there was horrible, corrupt etc. Does anyone have a good program that I don't have to pay for and doesn't cut you off after 10 secs? Thanks.

You can try CDex. Converts CDA tracks and wav to MP3. It's freeware,so give it a try.

i have used music match (that came w/ my rio) but i switched to using LAME encoding on everything.

CDEX plus LAME is the best package you can get. Easy to use, top-notch sound quality, and they are both FREE.

I use razorlame as a front end to lame.exe. It works fantastic. You can do the drag and drop thing. I do large batches of ten to fifteen gigs of .wavs at a time and no problems whatsoever. The vbr is nice.

A nice feature of RazorLame is, when mass encoding, you can choose for it to shut off the computer when it completes.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion

EAC is dog-slow in my experience. But I use it if I come across a CD that is giving me glitches during ripping using CDEX.
