I'm replacing an old linksys router at my friends house and I need some recomendations. I've been looking through newegg and all the low to mid level routers all look the same. I'd prefere either a netgear or dlink router, no linksys. Base 100 no 10/100/1000 ports needed. Most likely won't be going with N but if someone could throw out some opinions on some decent N routers for comparison that would help. This does not need to be a high level router. The most action this network sees are Starcraft LAN parties. Other than that, day to day usage will be normal web browsing by a couple computers and gaming on a ps3. I would prefere to keep the cost under $80 but definately not over $100.

No, Id like a mid level router from either Netgear or D-Link that will suit the needs of an average home user.

The D-Link DIR-655 has all you want and more within your budget ($93):

If you want to save more money and live with older hardware, I'd suggest an Asus WL-520gU at $40 AR:

If best wireless range is a goal, then Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 is a similar device with better range due to a built-in wireless amplifier (~ $60):

+1

I would add that a the moment the only reason to get for Draft_N is if One needs Wireless streaming of HD from close range. Otherwise it is worthless.

The Buffalo with inexpensive Giga switch, should be the preferred solution for the time being.
