I'll be heading back to school soon, and my previous netbook is showing its age. I'll likely be moving out of state, and don't want to bring my whole PC setup... well because I don't want to be distracted with gaming. Grad schools is no joke. Anyhow, I'll likely be taking notes on the thing, lugging it around campus for 1/4 or more of the day, and maybe using it as a light entertainment center (Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, etc.) or the occasional light gaming (Dota 2).
Most Important:
Keyboard size - As close to full size as possible
Battery life
Weight
Screen performance (brightness, less reflection, etc.)
Sturdy (Materials - Gorilla glass, aluminum or ceramic bodies, etc.)
Not Necessary but still Important:
i7 or i5 Haswell chips
128gb SSD ideal, 256 better but not necessary
Interface (USB 3.0/2.0 slots, card readers, mHDMI ports, etc.)
8gbs of RAM
14" > screen
I've been eyeballing Asus Zenbooks and T300s. The weight and features on the Zenbooks are nice (UX301LA in particular), but the price hurts when compared to the T300. I can't find much of any hands-on reviews for the T300 though. I'm open to other brands, but have had the best luck with Asus hardware thus far.
If possible, I'd like to keep the budget at around 1400, but can swing for more money if the product really "pops" at me.
