I'd run this myself, except that I only have dial-up connection to the Internet ...
Basically, SETIGate just came out with a new version that allows WU logging to a CSV file. Since I just downloaded it, I haven't tested it on my own fleet yet, but while I'm doing that, I'd like to set up a small "test" proxy on someone's machine.
I'd like to have someone set up the SETIGate software on their machine and get two or three people flush and fetching WUs through that proxy. If it holds up under use (and we can get good stats from the log files), we can look to adding a proxy to the Team Anandtech server along with the current DNet proxy.
SETIGate isn't quite as automatic as the pproxy software from DNet (for instance, each user needs to be manually "added" to the proxy before they can fetch and flush from it) but it isn't something that requires a PhD to get set up. (I set it up, so it can't be TOO hard!)
If you have a broadband connection (DSL, cable, etc) and no firewall between you and the outside Internet (like the current round robin providers), and you'd like to help test this beast, let me know. And if anyone has questions, fire away. I'll be back in the morning to answer any questions I can!
