Need a solution...

Alright so I have a nice 4k LED TV, a BOSE soundbar which is pretty nice, but I have an inconvenience as well.

So my cable box has HDMI output and also optical out, as does my Xbox one. My laptop only has HDMI out.
I like the way the soundbar....sounds. But the home I moved into has surround sound speakers installed, with wall connections behind the TV that look like (after research) banana plugs? I didn't even know that was a thing...

How can I make everything work together?! And is using the surround sound with the bose a bad idea? I have no idea how to make it mash.

If you're happy with the soundbar, it doesn't seem worth the effort and remote-juggling to buy a 5.1 receiver to power the wall speakers. Just ignore them.

Does it have a built-in amplifier for external speakers? Or stereo line out you could connect to an amp?

i would ditch the bose and get a receiver
what speakers are installed? (rear? sides? front? center?)

Some kind of sony Front Left/right and back left/right.

No sub but I mean I could fix that or use the Bose for a sub? Idk, don't need super deep bass.

Whats a good base price for a receiver?

Amazon has decent ones for $190 - $300 -- Sony, Onkyo, Pioneer, Yamaha ... or you can get one from Goodwill / other thrift stores / Craigslist for $20 and up.

One bonus from a modern receiver is that it will have a bluetooth receiver so you can send sound from a phone or tablet. I do that in my living room with my Fire tablet, it has 60 GB of MP3s on a SD card.
