need a tablet for my Dad

i gave up on tablets years ago i have no idea whats even out there

he needs a new one, he pretty much only used it to play solitaire and read some news

must be android based. an Ipad will just piss him off because its different then his phone

Nexus 7 is a great, cheap choice, imho. Some of the Chinese tabs are decent, not the lightest or nicest but cheap and do the job.

I honestly really enjoy my $30 refurb kindle fire. The sd slot's nice for unlimited storage and sideloading android apps is as easy as installing an alt marketplace

I have the fire hdx w/ 4G and love it. Not the cheapest of your options but you can probably find one refurbished for a fraction of sticker price.

2013 Nexus 7 wifi. Very affordable, excellent device. If mine died today, I'd order another straight away. No provider in the way, just you and Google. Can be found on the Bay and
Amazon, but since it's a relatively older device now, be careful who you buy from.
