Awesome, thanks. That is one sweet keyboard. But the keys are not the normal ones you would find on a regular keyboard. I guess this is to be expected if I want a quiet keyboard. This is currently my number 1 choice, however, if there are other options out there, I'm open to them as well. Thanks.

You're welcome. BTW - I have two of these, one for home, and one that I bought for my work system and brought into the office...it is that good. But you are right, the keys are a bit like laptop keys in terms of key travel...good laptop keys though, think IBM's.

I have an UltraX, though I've not tried the expensive Lenovo keyboard that you mention. The keys have a definite feel to them - I don't notice any "mush" as I press into them. Unfortunately for what I perceive your desires to be, I don't find it totally silent. The clicking that is made as the keys are pressed is rather soft compared to some other keyboards that I've heard, but the sound isn't that near-silent thud of my Powerbook G4's keyboard (though those keys are more towards the point of feeling "mushy").Originally posted by: AsianriceX
Question on the tactile feel of the keys.
I was looking for a keyboard much like the Thinkpad's keyboard and Lenovo offers the Thinkplus Ultranav. It's basically the Thinkpad keyboard in desktop format, but costs 100 bucks.
I also looked at the Logitech DiNovo, but I don't need a mouse or wireless capabilities, and I don't want to pay almost 100 bucks
Then I saw the UltraX and was intrigued. I noticed that it's an OEM part and I happened to see something close to it made for Compaq at Best Buy so I gave it a feel. The keys felt mushy and much less responsive than my Thinkpad.
Where would you rate the feel of the UltraX keys?
