Need advice - Car almost totaled

Now, if I was visiting mexico and heard a mexican say "Some loco white dude hit my car" I would NOT be offended. After all; there's no POINT in stating the person that his car is white, because if he didn't say so I would assume it true.

Back on topic,

Try asking your insurance agent if you can get a salvaged title on the car. From what i understand, they basically buy the car back from you for the price it's worth as a salvage so they can sell the parts off. It's not totalled, but you don't get it back either.

However, make sure you do this before repairs are begun.

On a slightly similar note, i had a similar experience. Was approx. $3k short of having my car totalled myself - i was apprehensive at first. But the shop did a very good job fixing the car it's really hard to tell that it was in an accident, and this even after scrutinizing whatever i could find.

my friend's car got hit by a vietnamese person who also did not have insurance. i think some federal thing settled it. needless to say, they got in BIG TIME trouble for not having insurance. suckers.

My friend recently got into a car accident. He went to a repair shop that he knows and had it claimed as totaled and received blue book for his car. I think that your friend should get a brand new one since they are never the same once they have been in a car wreck. Plus, the resell value of the car will plummet since the RSX will be considered as a salvaged car (sorta) if it gets restored.

I'm glad your friend is physically OK.

I can see where this post is coming from. In this country, "Mexican" is almost synonymous with "Nig-er." It's a sad commentary but true. How one's country of origin can be so offensive is beyond me but that's the fact. However, I do know that living in Texas and being in the insurance industry, those of Mexican heritage are often uninsured and often carry loads of junk on their pickup trucks which spill their contents on the highway and cause accidents.

I wish it weren't true but it is. Whenever there's a slowdown on the highway and you look to the right lane, there's usually three Mexicans in a pickup "picking up" stuff that has dropped off.
