i rely need to build a gaming PC for a friend and I've been out of it since socket 939 ruled in gaming - so here's a quick put together see if you guys could help me out.
Intel Core 2 Duo ?Conroe? E6300 1.86Ghz 2MB L2 Cache 65nm Dual-Core Proc - $180
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 ATX Intel Motherboard - $153
eVGA 512-P2-N573-AR GeForce 7900GTO 512MB GDDR3 256-bit Video Card - $262
Corsair XMS2 2x512MB DDR2-800 240-Pin SDRAM PC6400 5-5-5-12 Memory - $132
Samsung SpinPoint SP2504C 250GB 8MB Cache 7200RPM SATA II HDD - $75
NZXT Lexa Mid-Size Tower ATX Aluminum Case - $135/$115AR
Cooler Master Real Power RS-450-ACLY 450W ATX PSU - $83
Hanns-G JC-199DPB 19? 8ms SXGA 250cd/m2 700:1 DVI LCD Monitor - $193
Logitech X-530 5.1 Surround Sound 70W RMS Speaker System - $56
Microsoft XP Home Edition SP2 - $200
The only thing I'm worried about is the RAM and PSU - are they any good? I won't overclock much if it runs games fine stock, but if there are any good values for memory, it'd be good. Budget can go as high as $1700 but my friend doesn't want his parents to spend a fortune either so nothing over the top. We're both only 15 years old and of course my friend wants fancy stuff. Are there any fancy PSUs that actually have stable rails and good efficiency? or does it have to be a trade-off between one or the other? Anything else I could improve like the vid card(again ive been out of it ther might be better values) or the monitor which might seem sucky? we're gonna steal a mouse and keyboard so no worries there, at worst ill just give him my mx518 and eclipse cuz i dun use them anymore(laptop user). i no u guys get these threads a million times a day but pleaseeee anyone who helps thanks soooooo much.
EDIT: anything I could make fancier(lights on RAM, mobo) or have better value please DO NOT hesistate to tell me im researching as much as I can on my own but schoolwork ain't so easy on me right now. HELP
