I'm putting together a computer that's DX10 ready and will be able to game in 1900xwhatever resolution for a 24" monitor.
So heres what I've got so far:
Lian Li PC 7b - 79.99$
eVGA Geforce 8800GTX - 649.99$
Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty - 145.99$
OCZ GameXStream 700W PS - 144.99$
Corsair XMS2 2GB - 300.00$
Asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi Mobo - 209.99$
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 - 308.00$
So far that's 1,838$. I still need a hard drive, dvd-burner, heat sink, and some fans for the case. Any recommendations?
Is a mid tower case big enough to work comfortably with? I remember my last case (antec p80 I think) was a major PITA to install everything with, and I know the 8800GTX is a rather large card. The full tower lian lis seemed quite a bit more expensive unfortunately and actually sounded a bit TOO big from the reviews. I don't need a lot of space, I just want it to be easy to put together the pc, no trying to cram the hard drive or video card in.
I'm also not sure if the sound card, power supply, and motherboard are really necessary. I know I won't be using wifi, and for sound I'll just be listening to mp3s and playing music on two speakers probably (guess I might use surround but I've never had a good room setup to try that). I don't really see how I'd use 700w either. What do you t hink?
Thanks guys,
Ice
