Need advice on company-paid phone

So when I joined the company three years ago, the company paid for an iPhone 5. About a year or so later, when the iPhone 6 came out, I asked the company if I could upgrade and they said that I would have to pay for the upgrade from my own pocket ($100). I did the upgrade and ended up giving the old phone (iPhone 5) to my daughter.
This Friday is my last day with the company, which phone do I return to them. Since I paid for the upgrade myself - can I keep the iPhone6 and return the iPhone5?

I am sure others have come across a similar situation.

If the (new)phone contract has been honored, the phone's yours. If it still has time on it, it belongs to the phone company. Your company gets the old phone, but if you ask, they may give it to you, or sell it cheaply.

Keep both phones, until they tell you otherwise. Most companies don't keep track of shit, let alone a phone. If they ask for the phone just give them the iPhone5, they probably don't have a record of the new one.

Actually I paid $200 for the iPhone6 (verizon) back in Dec 2014. So its probably already out of contract. Is there a way to verify if the phone is still under contract.

AFAIK, only the account holder can verify that, but phone contracts are usually two years, no?

If they know you're leaving and didn't give you a list of stuff to turn in, then they probably don't care. My company tells you which computers and phones they expect back when anybody leaves.

Return the iPhone5 (wiped, of course). If they tell you to keep it, good for both of you. If they ask for the iPhone6, remind them that you paid for the upgrade and would like to be reimbursed for that cost if they want that phone back as well (be polite). Don't just leave with both phones, it's bad form and the company may eventually get around to bricking them.

Unless they ask for either one back, I would keep them both.

You did not mention on whose account they were on. If they are on your own account, then you are golden.

If they are on a company account, you will need to go to the wireless store and see if you can switch them to your personal account (make sure they know that you personally paid for the 6). If they won't let you do that, you may then need to bring it up to your former employer.

Your company seems pretty care-free regarding their phone policy if you were initially able to keep the 5 no questions asked.

I've worked in wireless for years. The majority of companies don't want it back. However back your stuff up because they will do a remote wipe and may be careless and just delete everything on the iPhone.
I'd bring them with you on your last day and if they don't ask, don't offer it.
