Im in my Senior year in High School and we are supposed to take Physics for the science credit. So i took the adv. Physics course. This year however, someone had the bright idea to recruit a teacher from overseas.
Therefore i wound up with a teacher whose first day in the country of the United States was her first day teaching. As a result, i cannot understand half of what she says. She is a nice lady, but she cannot teach at all. She was teaching in the Commonwealth Governors school, but was kicked out after the AP Physics kids could not learn the required material. BUt she is still teaching Adv. Physics and I am having a lot of trouble now.
Most of the time, we learn the material by ourselves as we take the test. The HW and worksheets do very little because there is no "real" instructor to teach us the material and explain it.
Additionally, this 9 weeks she collected class work even though half the class wasn't done. She said just pass in what you have, so i did. Lo and behold i get the paper back and everything i didn't do was marked wrong. Not only that on my interim report, i have random grades that were missing (I redid them to try to avoid any problems).
So the other day i got a pass from her to return to my previous class and work on the Computer Program. We didn't finish, so the next day i had that class, we stayed late trying to finish it up. She reported us "MIA" (Missing in Action) even though she sent a student over to the room with the teacher and he told her we were there. So the next day the class was taking the test. She tried to make me and my friend take the test. We weren't there the last 2 days of class (No study guide, and we didn't even know what the unit was on yet). I flat out said "No" (respectfully), and apologized for not asking explicit permission on the second day and she let my friend and i complete the study guide out in the hall.
Well today i came back, still not understanding in the least about the subject and tried to take the test. There is no math or anything, it is all about Gravity, and the Laws of Gravitational Motion (Newton, Einstein).
Well try as i might i couldn't learn the material as i tested. Im coming back tomorrow to finish, but the material on the Study guide, while it still has to deal with Gravity, it does nothing for me on the test.
I dont know what to do! I dont want to cause problems, but earlier i thought i could just do really well the rest of the 9 weeks and bring my grade up, now i realize i cant. Should i make a trip to my guidance counselor and tell her the situation?
I realize foreign teachers are common in college, but none of them to this extent. Not only that, i AM still in high school.
The class average is a D (I have an 84 for some god unknown reason). My grades aren't bad. I have straight 100's on the assignments except for the random ones which she grades weird and some quizes (By some i mean ~18 100's and 5 other grades ranging from 69-94).
Can anyone just offer some suggestions on this?

Cliff Notes:
[*]Teacher new to country and can barely speak english
[*]Managing in her class by teaching myself
[*]Cannot teach myself this material
[*]Having trouble keeping my grade up now, even though i have nearly straight 100's
