Need advise on alternative internet browser for WIN XP

Do you trust the Firefox for internet banking/transaction purposes?

Sure. There's not much difference in browsers in this regard, as most browsers support SSL for secure, encrypted connections. I do always disable the old insecure SSL 2.0, which I haven't seen a site to require for years.

The problem is that using SSL is like doing your banking with an armored car when your bank is a cardboard box. It's generally easier and more profitable for attackers to hack the bank or store server than to attack individual browsers' encrypted connections.

Attacks against individuals are generally more along the lines of phishing scams and so forth, that your browser can't protect you against (though IE can make them easier, by letting the attacker make an evil URL display as a legitimiate-appearing one.)

Guys, after a week of trial, I have concluded that the Firefox is freaking awsome! Yeehaa!
PS. I noted that the Firefox somehow uses 256bit encryption with sensative transmissions like, email login, transaction login, and transactions. Looks like the MS's IE only able to use 128 bit, a big down grade from Firefox. Just what I was looking for.
and yes, the sites that i goto that shows 128 bit with IE, shows 256 bit with firefox!

Is it me or Firefox don't support vertical and horizontal scrolling? Like you can scroll up, down, left and right, with your touch pad. No clicking involved. Virtual scrolling works fine with IE. If it is me.. how can i fix this problem?

I'm using Synaptics TounchPad, driver version 5.9

You are not alone. My Synaptics Touchpad driver is 7.12.2 (dated Sept 04), and Firefox doesn't work with it either.
