Blue moon FTW!

Get it, you will not be disappointed. This is definitely my favorite beer

FTMFW!!!

Although I'll be the first to say that Blue Moon tastes better on tap, with an orange slice. But it still ain't bad out of the bottle.

I like Blue Moon but it tastes like they squirted a bunch of citrus into it. A very girly beer. And with an orange slice, even more girly

OP, good choice with the Beck's. A great beer I didn't start appreciating until I was un Germany. I was craving something other than a pilsener (overrated style IMO) but Beck's is an exception.

I never understood the "girly" thing. It's a tasty beverage. They serve it at bars, I enjoy it. Girly be damned. If someone wants to make fun of me for my beer, they can go right ahead.

Your Canadian, time to bring out the Unibroue! Thy basically make alot of Belgian styles, so whether it's a strong pale ale, or a fruity lambic to drag the chicks in, you're good.

Think it would sell?

Probably like hot cakes. Look at the prices for "been threw the digestive tract of a sacred animal" coffee.

edit - read his first post wrong.

Yeah, go with some cheap beer. It's the best kind! PBR or Blatz!

It is very good, and it's dark enough that beer snobs can't call it piss water.

Fat Tire, as suggested, is a very good beer, but it's only available in a small part of the country. We have to have someone drive it to Michigan, which makes it a very desireable beer to take to a party around here.

It's available nearly everywhere, & isn't anything great. I'd even say several regular Sam Adams lines are distinctively better.

For shame, you live in Chicago & you're not promoting any Goose Island?

Fat tire is way to filling for a party beer. There's an old saying " there's a sandwich in every beer" . Fat tire is more like a 12inch sub.

Anything but Corona. Why so many people drink that sh1t I'll never know.

You probably won't find any of these at the grocery store, but check these out. The only one I've found on that list is Stone IPA and Dogfish 90 Minute IPA, both very good. I've had/like Stone's Arrogant Bastard too, but the regular isn't on the list.
BTW, you can use google to search for beers there without registering.

People drink corona & other big advertised beers because it's being shoved down their throats as good beer. People don't seem to recognize that even better mass produced beers like Sam Adams & Sierra Nevada are so much tastier, & even cheaper then that yellow fizz that requires a lime just to be palatable. Other people just want to get as drunk as possible without throwing up. You can't help those types.

You should really register & use the Beerfly feature to search for availability in & around your area. I have absolutely nothing near me, but if I hop on the train, I've got access to a considerable amount, albeit at inflated prices. They have forums for every major metro area & between. Food forums, trading, homebrew, & even silly little blogs.

Don't just follow the lists, delve deeper into the breweries themselves. Alot of that list, like on ratebeer, is inflated. Sure they're great beers, but over time people's reviews get clouded. People scared they will get chastized for not giving those beers glowing reviews. Plus, IPAs & stouts are popular now. As long as it's strong &/or tastes like burnt chocolate/coffee, inexperienced people think it's good. We have to grow out of that.

Craft beer is getting bigger then it's ever been. The big breweries are fighting it, even trying to dress up & imitate it, but most people recogize the wolves in sheep clothing. By supporting you local brews, you defend your right to choose more then just light, lemon-flavored light, & water.
