Need BIG help with NT4

I installed NT4 WS on one computer here and I have sp3 on a cd so I installed that. Now I want to install IE6 .. or 5 or whatever (it comes with IE2.0) and I downloaded the ie6.01 install file and it wont run because it needs SP6 or newer. Right, then I get the SP6 install file and run that, and it needs bloody IE3.0 or newer to work.

I cant use microsoft update because it reqires IE3.0 or newer..

HELP ME.. please

try ie5. you should still be able to download it from ms. You can also install sp5 without upgrading the original browser.

ie5 is no longer on ms page and cant find it on tucows.
also cant find sp5 on ms page, just sp6

one thing i can think of is maybe try to download the full msie (if you're installing it over the net using the small installer file) and then install it from your local drive. for instructions, see here

you mentioned that the 6.01 install file won't run ... will the msie5 install file run for you?

if not, get an older msie (but 3.0 and above) and install it, then download version 6. they are available over here

Well, Let's see if I can give some help!!

First you should install this:
Full SP6A - Normal Encryptation!

An then you can use this or the new IE6 I still prefer this one!
IE5.5 SP2


After you install IE5.5sp2 you might need to get the High encryptation version of SP6a!!
