I'm looking for a black mid/full tower case that has 120mm intake/exhaust fans. Window is not necessary but would be a nice feature. I want something that isnt too minimalistic, has at least 4 external 5.25" bays, and front usb, firewire and audio ports. It can be steel/aluminum, as long as it can stay relatively silent. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Thermaltake Swing has exactly all of those features including the optional window and is a pretty nice price.

Great case, but I don't think it has front Firewire and audio ports.

Could be wrong, though.

3000b does not have front firewire or audio.

good case - I have used 4 or 5 for builds. Usually take the doors off - simple. have had some problems with the front latching completely. solved by taping the bottom closed.

just bought the centurion 5 and it looks promising, but the beware the top plastic covers of the silver rods at the front come off easily. Just take them off and glue them well before they come off.

Antec SLK3000B is only $48. It is very roomy and quiet. The case features quick-release HDD and floppy bays. One can put a large 120 x 38 mm Panaflo at the front and back of the case.

The case comes with a front door. What I did was to drill two holes on the door so I can access the power and reset buttons without opening the door. I rarely use the DVD burner and floppy drive.

No front audio or Firewire. However, you can add a plate at one of the optical drive bay to include these items.

what do you think the cables and connectors would cost to extend the firewire and audio to the front of the case ?

I really like the antec sonata for a budget case. Decent air flow and very quiet.

About $10 to $15 at the most. A decent motherboard should come with the firewire and perhaps audio cables.

The antec sonata is nice, but the other side panel is not removable and that might cause problems. the centurion 532's width is a tad too big; my case is under the desk and the chair wont fit under the desk if i get that case . I was looking at the ultra aluminus case. Any thoughts on this one?

Kingwin 523 at newegg et al., Beantech Igloo at directron.com et al., Antec SLK3000-B - best price still at provantage.com, some of the CM Centurions.

Stay away from Ultra products. The Aluminus is basically the Chenming 602 series with a shiny finish. The Chenming is available in either steel or aluminum with various bezel treatments. Also available under many other names (Asipre for one) if you need the more unusual color schemes - unfortunately some make you eat a junky PSU along with it.

I-Star nitro is pretty much the same as the Cheming 602 series et al., but it does have some unique finishing touches. I don't think that those are worth the extra $$s though.

I think i'll go with the centurion 532 actually, ill just deal with the extra width. It seems to have everything I want. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
