NEED DDR MEMORY

Looking for 2 stix 2 GB total. DDR NOT DDR 2/3

Something that'll perform well at a reasonable price. my old ones just lost it's edge on me, it's only willing to do 207mhz at 2225, LAME..

So, any RECS?

there is no more reasonably priced DDR out there. i have looked myself for months. every now and then you might find a deal on 2x512 but who wants that ?? if you find something post it otherwise we have to cough up the moola !! good luck

I'm looking at the OCZ platinum for 120, and the Mushkin Redline for 175.

Anythoughts on those??

from a pricing standpoint thats not too bad considering its ddr but what do you want them to do for you?. it looks like from your sig you overclock so i would see what people are saying about those modules that bought them. both companies have good reputations but i am far from expert at this than many others here who could probably give better advice.

Well I'm just finally moving up to 2 gig ram. I DOUBT I'm going to upgrade anything else for a LONG time. And this computer will eventually be one of my parent's "WHO DON"T GAME" , So it at least completes it up to Vista for them for another 2+ years. Which is the main thing. BUT I would still like Quality parts. I've noticed that whenever you get cheapo parts, they break down faster despite Being OCed or not.

Seriously, Ultra has blown up on me very very Consistently. If my computer was as consistent a performer as ultra at its failures I wouldn't need ram in the first place.

Yea, i just picked up two sticks of the OCZ platinum a couple months ago. Good stuff! I didnt pay $120 though. I paid $175 total with shipping. It was a bit of an impulse buy though.

i have never used Ultra memory either. had no clue on their standings as a memory supplier. i have a case and a power supply by them but its not in my gaming rig !

just buy the best priced quality memory you can and you should be fine. the only problem is that for the same money you can get a real phat dual core processor . i am so itching to build an AMD system right now with the way prices are.

both my daughters just started college so dads play money is on hold for a while longer lol

Fry's has 2 1GB sticks of Kingston value RAM for $70 AR. Decent price for DDR.

I considering using these with an Opteron 170 (socket 939). Anyone know whether these will overclock OK with the Opteron?

Just don't use OCZ, go with Gskill or Kingston from fry's like Wild1 said. you want proof to stay away from OCZ check out my thread i posted on 9-16-07 titled "proof OCZ is not all that".
