In response to the other topic, I've decided to go with the P4-M, probably the 1.7 or 8. Now, the question is which one. I have about 3000 for a maximum budget. I'm looking for these things:
P4 1.6-1.8
GeForce4 440 Go or Radeon 7500 both with 56MB
512MB of ram
40 GB HD
FDD
DVD and CD-RW capabilities
15" or greater UXGA probably, though SXGA+ is a possibility
Microsoft XP Home or Pro? what are the differences applicable to a college student
Microsft Office XP probably pro since it has powerpoint and home doesn't
(will buy this at college for a nicely reduced price)
So what would you guys reccomend? I have been leaning towards the Sager NP5650 has everything I need at a great price. However, some people have said Sager's are nothing but problems;well what are those problems?
The Supra Version of the NP5650 I wanted has this:
15" UXGA
Radeon 7500 64MB
1.8 P4-M
40GB HD
512MB ram
Combo DVD-CD RW drive
Extra CD-Rom to copy from
FDD
Modem and Networking
An extra battery
An AC adaptor
A 4 year warranty
UPS Ground Shipping
Total Cost: 2604
Trying to build the same thing at other companies runs 3000+
BTW, at Dell, they wanted over 4000 HAHA
