I played NFS Hot Pursuit once. I drove a T-Rex.

Actually that might have been NFS2, not 3. Oh well.

"Not all images representative actual game play." Just wanted to point that out in case anyone misses it. I find it hard to get very excited about a game trailer without knowing if it is actual game footage or pre-rendered.

Yup, Burnout Paradise was what NFS games could have been.
I have been playing since NFS (the first one, still have the box and CD) and only the first Hot Pursuit title (got it with my Voodoo3 card) was enjoyable to me.
I haven't enjoyed a NFS title in a long time, this might change all that.


Read the info and watched the trailer and as far as I can be, I'm sold.
So it's set in Seacrest County? I hope the game isn't too short.
Fans of Joel McHale will get that one...

I never played the old NFS games (first one I played was Underground :$) but I really liked Most Wanted.

For a game coming out in Nov you would think they would have used in-game footage. I would be happy if all this turned out to be was Burnout Paradise + real cars.

How do we know this will be good? I played a few games before Underground (NFS3 and 5), then played Underground 1, 2, Most Wanted, and Carbon. I haven't played Shift or Prostreet, but it sure seems like every game since Underground has been the same. Same mechanics, change up the maps a bit, cops in some games but not others, similar storyline, and a yearly new release. Where's the creativity in this

Hot Pursuit 2 was one installment before Underground and was also available for the Xbox, PS2, and GameCube.

The better not make it as easy as burnout was, no challenge at all for single player.

I just hope they remove the rubber-band ai so prevalent in all the NFS arcade games i've played. Nothing like doing a perfect lap, hitting every shortcut possible and leading by 10 seconds, only to have opponents speed up and do 180mph through a hairpin corner and regain all that time back to beat you right before the finish line.

Hope there's actual difficulty levels instead of the mess for AI that has been present in so many NFS games.

I would imagine most of that was actual gameplay. The parts where they zoomed in, or the really cool angles were probably either edited or manually rendered.

I still have fond memories of Porsche Unleashed.
