The hell is this s**t?

At first I was like Because I think I'd like a halfway sim-ish coast to coast racing game, particularly if they had lots of roads, and you could save your progress, lots of variety, etc.

And then I was like It looks really arcadey and with bad physics ..

And finally I was like :'( Super helicopter chases, Parkour?

It looks like a bad ripoff of GTA style, but without the free-world runabout.

More fail from EA, ffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

EA is trying too many things instead of keeping it simple like they did with most wanted. It would have been better if they could've released something along the lines of Most Wanted (Probably a sequel) with better graphics but similar gameplay, similar story and cutscenes.

The recent Hot Pursuit was such an intensely terrible game that I refuse to look at anything with the NFS title, except perhaps Shift (haven't tried the second one yet).

Hot Pursuit is way better than Shift 1 & 2. It's just like burnout paradise with cop cars.

That is funny because people were bitching that The Old Republic wasn't trying anything new and keeping the simple MMO formula. Guess people will always bitch, no matter what you do.

I think it looks alright. It sounds like an interesting concept (entering a coast-to-coast race to escape the mafia and the police), and I'm fine with the QTE sequences as long as the racing is fun. Note that I said "fun" and not "realistic", because realistic does not necessarily equal fun.

Also They Changed It Now It Sucks and It's The Same Now It Sucks.

Basically, change anything and they "ruined the series." Do anything the same and it's a "rehash." Fans of a particular game will always clamor for a modernized remake of said game because they have good memories, but it doesn't actually work that way.

I still don't understand why they can't just make Most Wanted 2. That was the last good one. I don't want burnout with cops, I don't want QTE with a freaking person, it is need for fucking speed god damn it, I want high speed cop chases with multiple cities and an expansive highway system. I do not want to get out of my car to jerk off on the hood of it, I do not want to play burn out when I am playing need for speed.

You know EA and Activision have both went in total opposite directions but still meet at the same end some how. Activision just keeps putting out the same god damn thing over and over as frequently as they can and run a franchise into the ground. EA keeps changing everything which looks good on paper, but then you realize they keep changing all the good and replacing it with crap instead.

They tried with Carbon with moderate success, then again with Undercover and it was an Epic Fail. Seems like EA can't get anything right these days, even if they wanted to.

NFS has really been going downhill since Pro Street. Everything after has been crap and boring (yes, SHIFT and SHIFT 2 also). This one looks exciting.

Oh and for Less Than Dan, if you want an example of "Quick Time Event: The Game" go play Heavy Rain.

Funny you say that. I've actually been wanting to play Heavy Rain for a long time now, but haven't yet (no PS3). Indigo Prophecy is also one of my favorite games. While it had QTEs, I enjoyed it because of the awesome storyline.

So yeah... who knows, maybe if NFS: The Run ends up having a good story to it... D:

^ It's Ryan Cooper man

I also thought this looked too GTA-ish. I can't understand why they would continue to experiment with different style games while they screw the NFS franchise.

For me personally, everything was atleast decently good until carbon came out (excluding hot pursuit which i liked). carbon was ok, prostreet was crap, undercover was crap, shift was ok, haven't tried shift 2 though.

One thing that really bugs me about NFS though (well the ones that it applies to) is the live-action cut scenes. MW, carbon and undercover all had cheesy cut-scenes. I can't take them seriously when they're 'threatening' and/or 'yelling' at you all tough like while they drive away in their box of pixels. Should've just kept animated cut-scenes IMO.

As much as I dislike what EA is doing, I will probably end up buying this anyway...

This may come as a shock to some of you, but there are enough people in the world that there will always be some who want/like change while others don't. It's different people voicing different opinions, not the same person complaining about change on one end and clamoring for something new on the other. It's getting old seeing that line get posted again and again.

Back to NFS, I miss the good old days of Hot Pursuit, High Stakes, and NFS:2.

I played High Stakes a lot back in the day. All of the custom car mods, etc. That was probably my favorite NFS. I liked Porsche Unleashed too.

Too bad I didn't have internet back then, couldn't play online.

Oh I loved NFS back in the day, NFS3 Hot pursuit, NFS 2, Porsche unleashed, high stakes. Everything after that was crap...yes even the underground series and carbon. I remember I use to play NFS Hot pursuit split screen on the computer, me and my friends had a blast, setting up road blocks and spike strips.

I started my NFS career with Underground 1 and loved it... didn't like Underground 2 so much. Most Wanted was the best I've played. Carbon was okay but nothing much like Most Wanted. Pro Street was an abomination and ended my NFS career.

Still waiting for something that looks good to hop into.

For what it's worth, those quicktime events are said to take up less than 10% of the game and are done to explain transitions between cars. Strange that they focused the demo on them though.

hahaha, ea games... seriously, after playing codemaster games ever since DiRT and GRiD came out, every racing game ea has made has seemed like shit. i dont like every way codemasters does things in their racing games, but compared to ea its an absolute joke. i think ea is still using the same graphics engine they used for PS1.
