Need Gamecube Bundle Hot Deal!

My son turns 11 in the middle of this month. I'd like to get him the Gamecube. I started poking around Hot Deals etc., but I don't see anything jump out at me. We're starting from scratch, so I'll need the console, second controller, memory module and a game or two. Are there other accessories to be looking for? Who has the best bundle deals out there? Any free shipping/coupon opportunities you know of?

TIA!

Maybe FS/FT will have a generous person? It's true there aren't really a lot of hot deals in stores for the GameCube.

Well, it's gotta be a new unit/bundle, but I guess a used game or two in addition would be cool. Should I be tracking down extension or adapter cables of some kind too?

Does BestBuy have the best bundle now? I see Toys R Us has it for $250.00, and they call it a Starter Pack, which includes an extra controller and memory card. What the hell kind of deal is that? The controller is $20.00 and memory card is $15.00! :disgust:

i dunno if BB has any GC bundles... but most of the time, those bundles are rip offs anyway.

Do you have a CostCo near you? They might have a GameCube bundle.

eToys.com is offering $10 off $30 if you sign up for their newsletter (use a Hotmail or Yahoo spam addy).

FW had a post (I think it was FW) where you got the Gamecube and Luigi's Mansion for $175, may want to check it out.

The Promotion or Offer code 225 doesn't work anymore. It's a two week old deal, so that's no surprise. Great deal though! That means it can be done, so I'll keep at it. I have a feeling Amazon will be a good possiblity, but I'm poking around everywhere.

Thanks For The Help!

That's a reasonable deal.

Gamecube bundle = $200
Memory Card = $15
Luigi's Mansion = $50

Total = $265

You're saving a whole $5

I saw that at Costco. Trouble is, there's a 5% charge if you're not a member. This just has NOT panned out like I had hoped. Before I started looking, I figured free shipping, no tax and adding a coupon would net me a full bundle for less than $225. I'm expecting the console, two controllers, a memory card and a game for that price... shipped! Not too naive, eh?

Thanks For The Effort.

I would consider selling mine as I have not used it as I thought I might. I have played with it maybe 2 times total so its in perfect condition.

Comes with:

Gamecube unit - (all original boxes, documentation, and even the packing material)
2 controllers - (1 original + 1 purchased [the purchased one is still unopened in the box])
1 mem card
SSX tricky

If you are interested, make me an offer.

From what I see on Ebay, you can get close to what you paid for it. I wouldn't insult you with a lowball offer. I really want to give him a new system for his birthday anyway. We'll probably track down some used games later, but it looks like those are bringing a good price too! I'm used to bargain priced stuff like our Dreamcast, which was purchased used, with a couple games for $75.00 over a year ago!

Thanks Anyway!

Ornery,

Been there, done that about 2 weeks ago. Nearly pulled out all of my hair trying to find a good package deal and then gave up.

Instead, I dragged my 2 devils into the huge and frightening ToysRUS in Times Square, watched their eyes grow big at the wicked display of Gamecubes on the huge TV sets and then nonchalantly asked them if they liked the Purple or Black Consoles better. When I got my answer I dragged them over and started piling my 11-yr-olds arms with Gamecube stuff and let them each pick a game. I thought my son was going to blow a gasket with happiness. So, yeah, in the end I probably paid $20 more but got to feel like "Mom of the Year".

Totally worth it in my opinion. Boy, how many times did I go to a store a stare wide-eyed at something I wanted oh-so-badly? Hell, I'm still that way about some things.

Oh, and they *love* it. We also have a Dreamcast and we take it with us when we travel.

Good Luck,

fraz

Thank you to the coolest mom in the world!

Great idea! I can already see the writing on the wall. It will no doubt be purchased locally. His older brother will help me with the specifics. I'm not so sure his mom will be quite as cool with this whole purchase as you, but she'll come around

I promise, you will have as much fun as he does!

Oh, and I actually waited until Dad was away at a meeting to make our little surprise visit to ToysRUs . I called him on the cell phone while we were in line to pay and handed the phone to my son (literally jumping up and down) so *he* could tell him. Even my somewhat grumpy husband (who doesn't play video games) was excited by the time I got the phone back. The advantages of being married for 14 years....

And Happy Birthday to the little guy!
