I'm using a Razer Lachesis and running Windows 7 64bit, and I've had zero issues with any drivers.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-017-_-Product

The only problem I found was that I would inadvertently hit the 'change profile' buttons (on the side where my thumb rests) and the mouse would freeze up for about two seconds. I disabled the buttons and all is well.

I had (have) the same problem while using the Lgitech G5 with W7 64bit. The mouse didnt "feel" right. I downloaded the Logitech Setpoint software and it works decently now after aseveral adjustments. But it does not have its previous feel it had when using it with Vista or XP.

I was thinking of buying a Razer Abyssus and see how it works with W7 64 bit and moving my G5 back to my XP machine.

I have a Logitech G9 that's pretty good. I still think that the MX518 is the best wired mouse Logitech makes though.

I love my MX Revolution but I am not into my FPSes as much as I was when I was younger, motion sickness (yay!). A good and solid mouse.

Unfortunately the charging contacts are corroding, the left mouse button seems to be suffering from a random double click issue and I am outside of the warranty period.

I did take a look at the G700. Looks absolutely fantastic and a definite improvement over the mice i have seen so far but the extortionate price (£89.99 on the official site or ~£75 at the best price, that's about $114-138 in US) puts me off.

Not sure about England but I know in the US, after a few months, you can usually find a sale on Logitech mouse that's usually more than 50% off MSRP.

I only paid $40 for my G9, $17 for the G7 and just recently got the G13 for $30.

Its neither. My mouse is in excellent condition... unless something inside randomly broke..but why would it still function? It functions, just not very smoothly. I have tried different settings and everything and I know what I'm doing... I have changed the X/Y resolution settings in the mouse's gaming options but it seems to do nothing. Default was 2000 by 2000 with a 1000 report rate. I've turned off my SetPoint drivers and even uninstalled them and that seems to help a little, but the mouse still isnt 100% smooth as it should be.

What surface are you using the mouse on? Time for a new mousepad?

Well I paid £47 for my MX Revolution and today it's still going on ebay for over £40

I'd really need to keep a very sharp eye out for that G700 because if it was half MSRP ~ £45, I'd be tempted

I've been through two G5s and eventually both had the all too common disconnect, reconnect issue. The first time they just sent me another G5 but luckily the second time, it broke again before the warranty was up and they sent me a new G500 instead. (I guess they're tired of the G5's issues and stopped making them)

Nothing but good things to say about the G500 so far.

The G9x was on sale (like someone mentioned, logitech has lots of sales) and for 48$ it was worth it. I wouldn't have paid any more though, for any mouse. There are just too many great options at around $50 to go any higher. I miss the more bulbous shape of my last mouse, which was closer to the shape of the G5, but I'll get used to this.

I'm not sure what the big deal about 5700dpi is, considering you have to set it to lower than half that or the pointer moves WAY too fast.

Can anyone explain how that works? What's the difference between the windows "speed" setting and the dpi setting? They both seem to do the same thing.

When you set Windows to the middle notch, moving the mouse 1 pixel of its resolution moves the cursor 1 pixel on the screen. Adjusting the speed in Windows changes that ratio.

Changing the resolution on the mouse changes how many pixels of cursor movement it reads per distance of mouse movement.

Logitech G5. I have that mouse in windows 7 64 bit and it works flawlessly. Your mouse is broken or something.

ok... there is actually a known issue between this mouse and Win 7 64. I just got an email back from Logitech and the tech told me they knew about it and offered me the G500.

Do you use the SetPoint drivers or not? If you don't use the SetPoint drivers, the problem is not as noticeable, especially if your mouse sensitivity settings are not very high. I use high sensitivity settings so that I barely have to move the mouse to get around. Do you have the latest SetPoint drivers? I think the problem becomes worse after applying the newest update which isnt very nice.

You claim that your mouse works flawlessly? Maybe you are not very perceptive as I am. Try putting your cursor over a blank background and then try to drag it diagonally very slowly. Do you see it "snapping" to each pixel? That's what my mouse does. When I have setpoint drivers installed it is even worse.

I first noticed this problem in FPS games when I tried to aim at a target that was very far away. I tried to slowly line up a shot but noticed that I couldn't pinpoint the exact spot I was trying to shoot. I started messing with my settings and found that the problem got a little better if I greatly increased the Windows mouse sensitivity settings and then set my game mouse sensitivity low. This solution makes gaming bearable for me, but I shouldn't have to deal with it this way.

I know this problem is with Windows 7 64 because I had a similar issue in Windows XP, but the solution there was to just to increase the mouse resolution settings.

I hadn't thought about trying that. We shall see how it works. The weird thing is was that I was having USB problems with my Razer Arctosa as well, so I think it's more of a windows 7 issue than drivers for either of my peripherals.

I agree with you. It has to be something different about Win 7 64 than in other versions of Windows. I don't really know what it is or why as its just simple mouse controlling... seems like that sort of thing wouldnt be an issue.

I also never thought of giving the mouse admin privileges, but it sounds like a possible solution, so I'm going to try that as soon as I get home.

I really love my G5 and would rather just get it working if I can.
