need help chosing a laptop

Okay I am going back to driving Semi trucks, I need a laptop to use as the following...

TV
DVD Player
GPS/map routing
..I like to play Americas Army and other games
wireless internet for
Email
Video Phone
Skype

Give thoght to the fact size is important but weight isn't (I need room for clouths and food more than I need to carry this thing)

Also give thought to the fact this laptop is my connection to the wourld for a week at a time.

thanks .. the E1705 is pretty kick butt too .. All tricked out it's close to $4K but looks worth it.

Ya..I have its younger twin, a Dell 9300. But I mentioned the e1505 instead of the e1705 becasue of your concern over space. Also, yhou dont need it completely tricked out to have a very nice laptop.

I own a E1505, it'll meet 80% of your feature set, but wireless internet is tough.

So far as I know, you have two choices, EDGE [Cingular] and EV-DO [Verizon], neither approaches nation wide rollout. I believe EV-DO has a bigger footprint. But the E1505 has ExpressCard, I don't believe anyone makes a EVDO ExpressCard. Now what?

I believe HP has some business class lappies with EVDO built-in.

Your feature set is a work in progress. Head over to HowardForums, they have big threads on EDGE and EVDO, may help.
