Need help configuring Media Browser

I am having trouble configuring Media Browser so that Media Player sees all of my ripped movies for playback on PowerDVD.

I used to have it all figured out and at one time had a HTPC. Recently I decided to build a new HTPC and I have forgotten how to set up MB and MP to allow for the VERY cool ability to browse my ripped DVDS. I had it set up with movie pics, categories etc..

Anyway... if anyone is familiar or has a few links I can go to... I appreciate it very much.

I have my Media Browser looking at the hard drive where my movie files are: H:/main movies. Do I need to put them all in a file and name it MOVIES?

Any help is appreciated.

Each movie needs to be in its own folder. Using your setup it'll be:

H:/main movies/Matrix
H:/main movies/300
...

I use Metabrowser to get covers, meta info and backdrops but there are others as well.

Only if you are using Metabrowser do you need this format, otherwise, it is not necessary. I switched back to 2.1 as 2.2.3 was too slow refreshing / loading images from my local hard drive (using metabrowser). The old version doesn't have as many bells and whistles, but it is quick and still looks good.

I have been able to get my movies showing in Media Center.

I am having trouble now launching PowerDVD. As I remembered in the past I was using a different player and it launched without issue. However... now I have Blu Ray movies and they require a new player that plays Blu Ray. PowerDVD launches but does not play the movie. I have Daemon lite and that seems to not be auto mounting and unmounting.

If someone is running these proggies and can share exactly what you did to get them working together.

Thnx

Same as jtvang125 here... metabrowser for covers, etc. Mediabrowser/7MC for browsing and playback. Virtual Clone Drive for ISOs (though I only have a couple of those). However, I am not using an external player at this point - my HD movies are all in .MKV format. My current receiver doesn't do HD audio and I can't really tell the difference anyway, so for me there was no point in wasting space by copying the entire BR over.

Anyway, just a guess here - maybe there's some setup required in your autoplay and/or file association settings? Are you trying to use PDVD for playing back all files, or just the BR stuff?

Will the Blu-ray play back using Windows Media Center (outside of mediabrowser)? If not, you need to get that to work first.

I can get PowerDVD to play back the ripped ISO files (Blu Ray), but I have to do it manually outside of Media Center.

I am starting to lean torwards using TMT3 as I think it integrates better with Media Center and Media Browser.

Also it looks like I am switching to Slysoft virtual drive instead of Daemon.

Hopefully the above changes will have better results.

I can view all of my movies in Media Center using Media Browser. I just can't seem to get the movies to mount and unmout automatically.... thus going to try a different virtual drive.

After trying the above changes, I will reply.

Booty... I have tried setting PowerDVD to play all as well as just Blu Ray. Currently I have it set to play only the Blu Ray. But that is still no joy.

Ok..

Removed Daemon lite. Removed PowerDVD.

Installed Slysoft virtual clone drive. Installed TMT3.

TMT erased or rather replaced my Media Browser in Media Center. And hard locked after xing out a movie.

This is going to be fun. Now I remember why I tossed my HTPC work a few years ago... lol.

Well. I will try to see if I can get Media Browser back into Media Center. And get TMT3 working properly.

What a PITA. Can't someone just come up with an awsome suite that catalogs our movies like media browser, plays them in media center and be done with it?

Now I have to load Media center studio.... and try to get my media browser back into Media Center. It still shows under Media Center setup and is checked.... but no icon is showing. I guess I have to install an entry point now? No wait. I think I will just try to reinstall Media Browser and see if it magically reappears in Media Center. Sigh.......

I do everything (sans the Blu-ray...dedicated HD DVD / Blu-ray player for that function) with Daemon Lite, Windows 7 (x64) MC, Shark x64 codecs for Windows 7, and Media Browser 2.1. I also have this same setup on a Vista x64 machine (which seems to be more stable -- both having very similar hardware).

If I were building another one today, it would probably be the Vista Media Center version. For me (over the air only) there are no real advantages to Windows 7 other than the looks of media center and "normal" channel numbers.
