I'm been reading about this a lot and I just can't understand what is going on here. I've read the temperature guide at Tom's Hardware and that makes sense. What doesn't make sense is the readings that I'm getting on my system.
My mobo is a GA-P35-DQ6 with an e6850 3GHz proc - defaults on everything.
tcase is supposed to be the sensor between the two cores. The cores themselves (tjunction) should be higher than tcase.
So here is where I don't understand it. Here are the readings from Speedfan (idle):
Temp1: 45c
Temp2: 32c
Core 0: 24c
Core 1: 25c
So in this case my cores (tjunction) are less than my tcase. So, did I install my heatsink wrong or something to get these wacky numbers? Reading the CPU temp guide, it makes no mention of things being off by 15c. Here is the guide for reference below. If someone could help me out I'd really like to figure out what the heck is going on here.

I'm pretty sure that Temp2 is tcase because if I use TAT to put a workload on the proc, Temp2 and Core 0/1 all go up in temps right away so that tells me those are for the proc. I'm not sure what temp1 is reading.
Another thing I don't understand is the vcore voltages.
Vcore 1: 0.99v
Vcore 2: 1.87v
I just don't get it. The system is working great and I can game on it and all that just fine. It ran Ortho for 6 hours without a problem as well but I'd really like to understand what is going on here. When I put a load on both cores, the Vcore1 goes up to 1.2v. Vcore2 says at 1.87v. I'm guessing that the 1.87v is an incorrect reading and really isn't reading anything.
Again, any help here would be apprecaited. I really want to understand what is going on in my system.
Thanks,
