Need Help - Domain registration issue

Hi,

I have registered a new domain name and have changed hosting sites. My problem is that I cannot update the DNS entry for the new site. The new hosting site doesn't offer a way to transfer, and I cannot get my registar information from the old hosting site (it was through a 3rd party, they only e-mailed me the domain name and little else) to transer it through interNIC.

Any ideas or suggestion on how to make the switch?

Your complain is not very clear.

If you registered a New domain what is that you have to transfer?

The new Hosting Vendor should set you with new DNS that is part of their system, and point your New Registerd Domain toward it. Hopefully you have a copy of your site and you can load it into the new Host.

If you just bought the New Domain from a Site with No Domain Controller, it usually means that you have your domain as long as you are with them.

If it is a different scenario.

The number of ?Real Domain Registrar? is relatively small.

You have to find who your real Registrar is, and ask them to take action.

As an Example my domains was bought and hosted by a third party, but I know that my real Registrar is eNom, Inc.

In order to find out who is currently registered as the owner of the domain you have to search Whois.

The Most Common Mistake done by people is not checking if there is a Domain Controller when purchasing a New Domain.

Having a Domain Controller available to you On Line, worth much more then saving $5 per year.

What is a Domain Controller?

It is a link to a page in the site of your Domain Vendor that allows you (with an adequate password) to control on line all the aspects involving your domain.

Including, Ownership, Hosting DNS, etc.

You info worked, I found my registrar information through your "Whois Search" link. Sent it to interNIC and will have myself switched over in 48hrs.
