I have a P3 650 OC'ed to 933, 256MB of high performace mushkin RAM running @FSB of 144MHz, 2-2-2, and turbo, all on a Soyo SY-6VCA via133a board.
Other hardware - SBLive Plat. & liveware3, Leadtek GeForceDDR & det3 6.18.
Other drivers - Via AGP driver 4.03, Via Inf 1.02b.
This problem mostly concerns Unreal 2.26f, UT 4.28 and 3Dmark2000. If I run either of these programs for an extended period of time they will completely freeze up. Soldily. The only way out is a hard reboot.
My question is - what could be causing the instablity? The CPU, the RAM, or the mobo/chipset/mobo drivers? I know the video card runs stable on a 100MHz FSB with a 1/1 AGP divider (I do not know what the divider is set to on my current mobo setup :-( ...).
The CPU has a very good heatsink that was attached by someone I trust, and who always does a good job. The heatsink itself is usually cool or slightly warm to the touch - at first I thought it was not properly attached, but I can run Q2 or Q3A forever without any trouble, and I have also run various stress testers with no problem - so the CPU does not seem to be having any heat trouble.
I have done quite a bit of stability testing - prime95, q2 and q3, cpumark99, and some kind of stability tester program. None have had any trouble with my current setings/config.
Any ideas?
...thanks
